But that would be a fairy tale re living life but I would like to spend another few days or week or more with my grandparents who have passed on just like the Waltons so in that way reliving the Seres is a nice fantasy

Rewind the best bits, loop the happy times; edit the bad bits, but ultimately play all through with an open mind and heart. Golden for me as well.. literary

I watched The Pony Cart, from Season Five. A perennial favourite, I know, but one I have not enjoyed for absolutely ages. There is a little scene in the living room where Elizabeth senses all of the family becoming niggled at Martha Corrine's presence/ meddling, and she voices her opinion. The effect being that the family notice that they have all been cast under her spell and John Sr. decides to remove her politely using bedtime as the excuse, save her ears hearing anything they might question further. All of the Waltons are touched by her in one way or another, Grandpa seemingly the least, although her instructions on how to carve wheel spokes for the cart seem to hit home. Always the first to bestow good manners upon his guest, Grandpa joins in with his liking for swing music on the wireless. Seemingly outnumbered, Martha Corrine reverts to the fact that his liking of old, and new music, is of no consequence as her memory of music is older than his, and therefore respect should be paid. As ever the gentleman, his laughter brings the discussion to a pleasant ending. And a scene where Olivia is gardening and Martha sits for a while to discuss the merits of life, old age and referring to her own garden wilting is rather touching. A fine performance, duly rewarded with an Emmy. Now, about John Boy not keeping his word... literary

The last one I watched was The Parting. Have not watched my DVD's of the series for the last few weeks. Been on a King of the Hill kick lately and been watching those DVD's.
