I watched the typewriter. So generous of the Baldwin sisters to lend it to John Boy. When I first saw that episode, I was hoping John Boy would not be rejected after submitting it to a mag in typing. I was wrong But the ending was great "My family managed to turn my first rejection slip into some sort of victory. I started typing again that evening and I've been typing stories ever since, but no typewriter ever came to mean as much to me, as that old machine I borrowed from Miss Mamie and Miss Emily Baldwin"

I just saw the Braggart again and it isn't Hobies brash attitude that bothers me but that he so carelessly and recklessly gave up his major league dream by rough housing and falling out of a tree and hurting his bonus baby pitching arm. As much money as pro athletes make now itwud have been like winning the lottery to make the major leagues in the Depression. Hobies gave up that dream. What a shame! WMFan

This morning I watched The Hunt from Season One. Being off work for a couple of days with an illness has given me the opportunity for some comfort. The Typewriter and The Star are next up; I think I'm on the mend.. :-)

Grandma comes home. This is usually where I finish. Sometimes i watch the rest but the series changes and not for the best after that. First 6 seasons are the best!

Wow. I just created and posted an invisible post! That's new.. But actually I was going to say that the three episodes of The Waltons I watched whilst recuperating were indeed the chicken soup moment I was looking for. Thanks, JeriJet. literary

I have just watched The Move - Ralph Waite's final episode. I still get a heavy feeling when this episode ends, all the central characters are now gone and what's left of the family seem to just battle through to the final episode. But at least that means that we will soon be back to season 1 again - The Foundling - and the family we know and love along with Reckless and Chance will be together once more. Grandpa and John will be working in the old mill in the barn again and all those wonderful storylines will be enjoyed all over again .

That's the way I've come to view that episode as well--that we're almost at the end and soon the good stuff will start all over again. If only real life were like that....
