On the tombstone of Rebecca Lee Walton in The Heritage episode (S2Ep17), it appears her birth and death are 1825 - 1895. She would have lived 70yrs. But these dates are not consistent with the information of Rome Walton arriving on the mountain in 1789. We don't know how old he was but lets say he was 17 to 20yrs upon arrival.. Due to difficulty in discerning precisely Rebecca's birthdate from the video image, if it actually reads born in 1805, she would not have married at least until 1820, but Rome would be much older than her and be about 50 in 1820. If Samuel was born shortly after, he would have been old enough to marry Zula and have his first child Henry (b.1841). I don't believe Rome waited 30 years after arrival on the mountain to marry. So we have come to another conundrum in the chronology of the family. Upon re-inspection, it looks like Rebecca Lee was born in 1845 but that makes the time line, even worse. View AttachmentAnother contradiction is that in the episode The Pony Cart, Martha Corinne says Samuel was the first Walton to come over from England. Didn't she? And I think she still meant the one that was Henry and Zeb's father. Same kind of contradiction with Boone's wife. In The Conflict, I'm almost sure that Esther says they were there for her funeral. And Jason asks if they can look for arrowheads like the last time they were there. But in that later episode where Jason is trying to help Boone, he says his wife Rose and his son Henry died in a flood in 1888. So he obviously had to have had a second wife who was the mother to Wade's father. When Martha Corinne shows JohnBoy her small family cemetary there is a Floyd Walton. I tell myself it's Wade's father and he and Vera named their baby after him. Oh and another episode said Wade was Boone's nephew instead of his grandson.

Yes, I believe these same contradictions we discussed under the threads for those two episodes you mention. I remember posting a photo of a Walton tombstone shown of a relative named Floyd who they never referred to. It was in a thread titled: Wade Walton - Boone's grandson or his nephew It is difficult to resolve these conflicting remarks. I don't believe the screenplay writers were paying attention to those details from earlier scripts. In hindsight, it would have been better for Earl to have laid out the entire family tree before any of the episodes were written.

Johnny, the history that has been compiled and you have updated with the information you have provided is fantastic. I was unaware that Zeb had a sister. I did know that Zeb of course had an older brother Henry who of course was married to Martha Corinne. You have done some great research for this.
