I like both Erin and Marcia. Fickle girls don't bother me. I can think of one pretty girl that I didn't like, though. Sis Bradford! She's the girl in the episode The Beguiled who was spoiled and rude. She hit John Boy's car and ruined his tire, or something like that. She also took John Boy's notebook that he needed for a class and hid it in a little boy's bookbag, letting him take the blame. (Danny, played by Willie Ames of Eight is Enough) If we can count people who appeared in newsreels, I can think of one that everyone can agree with. Adolph Hitler. At least I think he was in a newsreel or two on The Waltons. Darleen Carr who played Sis Bradford is the real life sister of Charmian Carr who played Liesl in The Sound Of Music. Nicholas Hammond and Kym Karath both appeared on The Waltons at different times. So Darleen is a third (sort of) Waltons/ Sound Of Music connection What a cool piece of trivia! I agree that her character was pretty despicable. She portrayed her well!!

Corine Walton was the one I never could stomach. My God she was the most opinionated, stiff spined character on the Waltons. There many, the dust bowl cousins, would be my second. Comparing Grandma to Corine, Grandma was a rose even with her stiff necked, unforgiving ways. Yep, Corine ... hands down. Are you speaking of Martha Corrine? She turned out to be a good person who went thru losing her home and having to change her whole life. Most elderly people are a little opinionated, etc. I loved her in The Pony Cart.

I agree about Janet. I guess to all of us here, we would be so grateful and happy to even go visit the Walton home, and even happier and excited to be part of the family, and Janet seems bored and uninterested in the house and family. That's because she doesn't want the country life. She enjoys the city. Personally I don't care either way about her. I always wished he could have married either Jenny, Daisy or Simone (although with Simone that was a different JohnBoy). I didn't like Janet and I didn't like her father. A couple of bits of trivia about actors that played other members of Janet's family. The actress that played her mother played the mother of the character that David W. Harper (JimBob) played in the TV miniseries The Blue and the Gray. He played a young man named James Hale who lied about his age to join the Union army at the same time as his brothers. Then the actress Holland Taylor, who played Janet's Aunt Flo, she played the mother in an ABC Afterschool Special called My Mother Was Never A Kid. It's about a teenage girl who is thrown back in time to the 1940's when her mother was a kid ( and her mother as a kid was played by Rachel Longenacre, Aimee Godsey on the Walton's).

I liked him with Daisy but I'm sure Olivia would have had something against her for having a baby out of wedlock.

Who was Corrine Walton? There was Cory from the Dust Bowl Cousins. She was married to Ham. Couldn't stand him. And then Cora Beth Godsey, who's a Walton. I always loved Cora Beth. She was very gossipy and opinionated but I adored her. I loved Ronnie Claire Edwards, I thought she was a great actress. One of my favorite episodes is The Pearls. She played Cora Beth's sister. Love that episode. I love the way she called Ike "Brother Ike". I just watched the Rumor and Buck Vernon is horrible. But I have to say Elizabeth was awful in that episode. Just awful. And she was never made responsible for her actions. That's nothing new. The Search. She was awful. And the episode when Olivia is the teacher and Elizabeth sits with her and never leaves her side. She was unbelievably spoiled. Anyway I think Buck Vernon is the worst character ever. Yes Elizabeth should have been punished for her part in starting rumors but she was a child she didn't know better or didn't know that the seemingly innocent things she was saying about Mr Brimmer would/ could cause so much trouble. . Buck Vernon and the other men are adults and should have known better than to take everything a child says as gospel truth and spread it all over the mountain. .

I liked him with Daisy but I'm sure Olivia would have had something against her for having a baby out of wedlock. Olivia may have been against the wedding in the beginning, but I think that attitude would have been short-lived, and she would quickly accept Daisy as her daughter-in-law and Melissa as a grandchild. Cora Beth, on the other hand, would not have been as open-minded.

I believe Joyce was talking about Martha Corinne, Zeb's sister-in-law. She got removed from her home by the government so they could build a road and later moved in with the Waltons because she didn't want to die alone.

Oh I liked Martha Corrine!! She was set in her ways of course plus she could act pretty snippy but I loved her. I loved it when she took over the sausage grandma was making and she said there wasn't enough pepper. Grandma freaked out and said it wouldn't be fit to eat. In rolls John Boy and says it was the best sausage sandwich he'd ever had!! So funny! Also, the cousin Zaboc idea? I just watched the episode ( for the billionth time) and I thought the exact same thing. He could never replace grandpa but he would have been a great character to add to the show. After grandma had her stroke and then grandpa passing, Olivia leaving the show too. They needed something. I had a hard time with the show once it was minus three people that I enjoyed very much. Cousin Zaboc would have been so much better than cousin Rose and her grandkids. That Jeffrey kid got on my last nerve.

I love that scene where JohnBoy eats the sausage and then has to chug a full glass of milk it's so hot. I loved Zadok as well. And that beautiful fiddle music he plays beside Drucilla's pond.

When you taste something hot and spicy, and have to chug a full glass of milk, that's when it's starting to get hot enough, but still isn't quite where it needs to be!
As the Cajun Chef, Justin Wilson, used to say, "You t'ink dat's hot? Whooooo-weeeee, ah guarohntee!"

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Lutie Bascomb in The Fire. Oh yes, he was pretty bad!! And today I watched the episode when Marcia returns with her fiance. He was despicable!! I kept wishing she and John-Boy would have gotten back together. Sometimes I imagine different endings. Even though Marcia would have been wrong in the long run, it was nice seeing them together again.
