Erin Walton Marcia Woolery Disliking the pretty girls. But I know what you mean awesome their characters could be fickle and shallow. Isn't it interesting on the soap operas we guys especially love to watch the bad girls like Kristen and Nicole on Days of our Lives. And the women love to hate them, but they recognize their outward beauty and they make for great stories and dramas soap operas that is lol.

I don't 'dislike' any of the 'character' because that is what they are. As actors their role to be as they are depicted on screen. In real life I don't obviously know any of them personally so can't have any opinion that way either. But back to 'characters' any actor will tell you it's much more rewarding to play the 'baddie'. they get remembered most.

I can think of one pretty girl that I didn't like, though. Sis Bradford! She's the girl in the episode The Beguiled who was spoiled and rude. She hit John Boy's car and ruined his tire, or something like that. She also took John Boy's notebook that he needed for a class and hid it in a little boy's bookbag, letting him take the blame. (Danny, played by Willie Ames of Eight is Enough) If we can count people who appeared in newsreels, I can think of one that everyone can agree with. Adolph Hitler. At least I think he was in a newsreel or two on The Waltons.

I'll never get over my disappointment in John-Boy marrying a city girl... I don't necessarily hate Janet but, I found her to sometimes be "unlikable".

I know what you mean, it wasn't that I disliked her, but I really thought he'd be with someone that was just as crazy about Walton's Mountain as he was. She seemed to be a little cold and only tolerant of the homestead.

I agree about Janet.
I guess to all of us here, we would be so grateful and happy to even go visit the Walton home, and even happier and excited to be part of the family, and Janet seems bored and uninterested in the house and family.

I always loved Jenny Pendleton and Daisy Garner, they would've been great as a wife for John Boy. They seemed genuinely interested in his hometown and family... especially Jenny.

At least I think he was in a newsreel or two on The Waltons. You are very right Brenda. I forgot about that sneaky lying girl in the Beguiled. I didn't like her either. She tried to frame the young character guest played by Eight is Enough's Willie Aimes and he was a bit of a con artist himself in that episode helping to get Jim Bob into trouble. And yes the actual history on the shows like the Adolf Hitler Newsreels, Pearl Harbor and World War 2 that is just a sad part of history. Good comments. Best wishes WmFan

Muffin was a jerk too. Remember her from the Big Brother episode? I was just thinking about her! She was so unappreciative of everything the Walton family did for her... Grandpa Walton was a wise man!

I confess it may have been due to the fact that I was thirteen years old and had a serious crush on Judy Norton at the time but, I sooooooooooooo wanted to hit The Minstrel over the head with his guitar. Maude Gormley sure showed him what real music sounds like.
