Other than those movies about The Waltons, there have been a number of movies that Walton cast members have appeared in. List your suggestions here for a great movie viewing experience starring members of our favorite TV family.
First suggestion: If you love classic Westerns, watch James Stewart starring in Winchester '73. The first 20 minutes of the film features Mr. Will Geer as U.S. Marshall Wyatt Earp. He does a fantastic job in this role. When I first saw him in the movie I didn't recognize him but his voice gave him away.

Ralph Waite did television movie in 1976 called "The Secret Life of John Carpenter" which is a true story of John Chapman, a college president who took a sabbatical and went out and got a job as a general laborer, to try to experience life outside his well-ordered but insulated college environment. I haven't seen the movie but I kept hearing people were talking about how good Ralph Waite did. I wish they had it on DVD....

Rachel Longaker was in the movie, "Oh God" and did an After School Special titled, "My Mom Was Never a Kid". That was so enjoyable I would love to get a copy on DVD of it. As I mentioned earlier, Rachel was such a sweetheart. I hope life has been good to her. Again, if anybody knows whatever became of her please remember me by posting. In case anybody forgot, Rachel played the Godsey's adopted daughter, Ammie.

Ellen Corby starred in "I Remember Mama",for which she was nominated for a Best Actress or Best Supporting Actress Oscar. She guest-starred as Lucy's former high school drama teacher on an episode of "I Love Lucy" that also guest-starred Orson Welles. Ms.Corby appeared as a con artist on an episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" in which she sold Barney Fife a lemon of a car. She also appeared on an episode of "Gomer Pyle,USMC". Helen Kleeb(Mamie Baldwin) guest-starred on another favorite of mine,"Bewitched",and Will Geer appeared on the show as George Washington, accidentally zapped up by Esmeralda. Mary Jackson(Emily Baldwin) appeared on "The Andy Griffith Show".

It should also be noted that Ellen Corby and Helen Kleeb both appeared in "Hush,Hush,Sweet Charlotte" with Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland, who played Richard Thomas' mother in "Roots 2". Henry Fonda("Spencer's Mountain")was Richard Thomas' father in "Roots 2". Maureen O'Hara, who played Henry Fonda's wife in "Spencer's Mountain",appeared with Richard Thomas in "The Christmas Box".

I remember that scene in "It's a Wonderful Life" in the Building&Loan when Ellen's character asked for $17.50. Ellen ad-libbed that line and Jimmy Stewart kissed her on the cheek, also ad-libbed. Jimmy Stewart's mother in "It's a Wonderful Life" was played by Beulah Bondi(Martha Corrine).

I just thought of another cast member that I haven't seen much about and that is John Ritter. We all know him as Jack on Three's company. He was in many movies and on TV shows. It was a shame that he passed away at such an early age. Another actress who appeared on the Waltons is now playing Nicki on Young and the Restless. I don't know what episode of the Waltons she was on but she played as a love interest of John-Boys. I should know her name since I am a Young and the Restless fan, but I am having a senior moment.
