waltonsportwriter, if you weren't already married I'd drag you off to Vegas for sure! A Waltons fan AND a soap fan??? Fabulous! ;D
I grew up watching soaps and I love them as passionately as I love The Waltons. The actors work harder than any other actors in any other genre, producing 250 or more new programs per year. Imagine the thousands of pages of scripts. They work hard for their money and don't get nearly as much respect as they should. The squelching of the soap genre is one of the great follies of this generation IMO. In 50 years no one will gave half a shake about an innane talk show or cooking show, but there will STILL be people watching Days, Y&R, B&B and GH (if they're still here). And if I'm still here, I'll still be watching them too.
As I will pick up my sword and defend my Hunny Bunny to the death, I also will defend soap operas.

Hey Heather/Dewlanna Thanks for the sweet comment and I hope you're doing well. I know you love John Boy so I'm not too concerned with that but thanks anyway! I have watched Days, Y& R and GH over the years along with some nightime soaps like Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing and Beverly Hills 90210 And I like classic reruns better than the stuff on tv today although I like the new Dallas and Rookie Blue a Thursday night cop show on ABC. So far they only show those shows during the summer. Take care and talk soon always. waltonsportwriter P.S. You should write or contact Mr John Boy to tell him how you feel. At least he would know! ;D

I'm looking forward to their return following the Olympics. I'm fb friends with Kristian Alfonso/Hope & Deidra Hall/Marlena, they have been posting pics of the "Salemaster" explosion! I got a fb update today from Melissa Reeves' (Jennifer Horton)daughter Em Taylor. She's a 19 year old who proudly expresses her Christianity and has the voice of an angel. She looks just like her momma, especially when she was her age & started on Days. I enjoyed her dad Scott in Blue County, he & Aaron had a couple big hits. He's in another band now, some of his General Hospital buds. If you get a minute check out her fb page & listen to her new song.

I posted this once previously back in November 2010. Anita Jodelsohn who played the part of Simone Berringer in The Premonition, was born January 24,1952 and made some guest appearances in Days of Our Lives back in 1965 when she was 13/ Does anyone know what she is doing now> Apparently she has not starred in anything since 1980 and is not reported deceased. So hopefully she is married and may have one or several children . Does any one have any information on her?

I would have been 2 when she was on. Why don't you "like" Deidra Hall's fb page or send her a fb message asking her, she started Days sometime in the early 70's and may know about her. In addition to Dee & Hope & Abby, I keep up with Thaao Penglis (Tony) Drake Hodgysten (John) Matthew Ashford (Jack) Ashley Benson (X Abby) Charles Shaugnessy (Shane) Patsy Pease (Kim) Patrika Darbo (Nancy) Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) Eric Winter (Rex) Brandon Beemer (Shawn) Jay Kenneth Johnson (X Phillip) Christie Clark (Carrie) Bill & Susan Hayes (Doug & Julie).

Excellent marylou and not just because they were the best in your eyes but you loved those shows and characters. wmsportwriter ;D I sure do! My hubby used to pick at me b/c I refused to go anywhere around 1PM, Days was coming on! This was before VCR but when we got one I always had it set After years of watching a program they (cast) become like family. I know to some that sounds strange but I've had them (cast) say the same! For several years I've kept in contact through letters with a lot of cast members and have gotten to know a few personally.

Its strange marylou how we have "families" and become familiar with people on these shows. I'm talking entertainment, sports teams and people that cover them. Sometimes we become just as familiar with them if not more than our own families. We need to be in touch with our own family and friends most yes but these people on tv and movies become a release and very familiar to us in a certain way as well. Its neat that you reached out and have had some contact with them as well. I remember I wore the four Super Bowl rings of Rocky Bleier from the 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers my favorite all time sports team. Not many fans get to do that! Talk soon waltonsportwriter

A former pastor at my church used to say that a woman requested prayer for someone on a soap at a Wednesday night prayer meeting once. I was never sure if he was joking about that or not.

Brenda yes as I mentioned in my last post that is hilarious and kind of sad and out there that people pray for things like soap characters, sports wins and other things winning the lottery. God doesnt really care about those things and a person praying for it doesnt change the result likely. People should take a look at their own lives. Its all right to hope for the things we cant control but praying for them is unreal lol. Talk soon. waltonsportwriter

Brenda, my aunt was in church when a lady requested prayer for a soap actress! She said she thought she'd fall through the floor! I laughed sooo hard! LOL I may feel attached but believe me I've never prayed for Hope/Bo or John Boy! ;D The actors yes if they request prayer or if that person (not character) is on my mind. wm/fan, you're right I've never known or heard from anyone who wore a Super Bowl ring! WOW! Do you still keep in touch?
