LOL-I remember that episode. Last night I watched the last episode of season 7, Founders' Day. Corebeth took charge just as Hyacinth would.

Seems like I remember Hyacinth had John and Olivia over for dinner on an episode, not unlike Hyacinth Bucket with her candlelight suppers.

You won't believe this one but I know a woman that acts a lot like Corabeth. Corabeth's real name is Ronnie Clair Edwards. Well, this woman's husband's name is Ronald Clair.

Wow, now that's really strange Buck. I wonder what it would be like to live with a REAL Cora Beth? And BTW... I can't, for the life of me, recall who Hyacinth is?

I've watched Hyacinth. Don't know if it is on anywhere anymore or not. The name of the show was Keeping Up Appearances, I think. An English commedy. She was really a hoot.

Hyacinth is a hoot, as are her sisters Rose and Daisy and Rose's husband. While Cora Beth and Hyacinth share some common traits, I have find Cora Beth more likeable. I always felt sorry for Hyacinth's husband, but I have never felt sorry for Ike. What makes this comparison more interesting my wife and I is that we have a friend who is a combination of the two characters and that really makes things interesting when she and her husband visit.

Hyacinth is a Walton's character? No, Hyacinth is not from the Waltons. She's from a different show called Keeping Up Appearances. It's a British show. I seen it, here in USA. on PBS. It's really funny show. Marilyn, I hope this helps you out.

Hyacinth is a Walton's character? Marilyn, it's a British comedy called Keeping Up Appearances. The lead character, Hyacinth Bucket (which she insists is pronounced Bouquet) is of common heritage and she puts on airs as she seeks to climb the social ladder. She and Corabeth are very similar. I mean very similar, even though Keeping Up Appearances is a comedy and The Waltons is a drama.

Seems like I remember Hyacinth had John and Olivia over for dinner on an episode, not unlike Hyacinth Bucket with her candlelight suppers. I remember an episode where the Waltons had the new minister over for lunch/dinner and didn't invite Corabeth, and Corabeth was furious. She was going to have the new minister over soon and was not going to invited Elizabeth, I mean the Waltons. I really believe that Roy Clark used Corabeth as the role mode for Hyacinth.

Marilyn, if you get a PBS station on the telly it probably airs episodes of Keeping Up Appearances. You'll see why I think Roy Clark (who created KUA) used Corabeth as the model for Hyacinth. The actress who plays Hyacinth said that Lucille Ball was her inspiration.

We do get PBS, but the only time I watch it is when there's some good music or a travel show on.

Just saw an episode yesterday where Jim-Bob gets an army flyer tattoo and doesn't want to get caught and tries all manner to remove it; including wrapping in a milk and bread poultice to which Elizabeth asks him " Do you smell sour milk?" while studying together then realizes it "smells more near you!"
Later he also tries wrapping it with liver. Lol

I know Jim Bob mentions the tattoo in a later episode. The liver technique was a bit gross.
