Erin hated the tattoo just like Sergeant Carter's girlfriend Bunny did.

I like in the Fulfillment (Season2 episode 20), when Stevie comes back into the house and Grandma and Grandpa are trying to catch him. (Stevie had run away after dumping the apples out that grandma had just peeled) Grandma moves pretty quick and they corner Stevie. Very funny!

I saw and heard Robert Donner at the Walton reunion in 1999 and he was a hoot. He had everybody in stitches. I met him and got his autograph. He was very nice and very gracious.

When the man who was an old beau of Grandma's wanted to take her out. She is getting ready and says to either John or Olivia while looking at a picture of Grandpa. Since this is after her stroke, it's even better that she gets it out so well. She says "He'd shoot me!"

In Season 3, The Romance..... Grandpa is talking about Paul Gauguin ... "a great painter who left his life in Paris to paint naked women in Tahiti." We hear Grandma mutter, "I want to hear his wife's side of the story."
Gotta love Grandma !

My funniest scene: The scene in The Burnout where the kids are trying to sleep in a leaky tent during a downpour.
I have a lot of favorite lines but, one that immediately pops to mind is in The Outsider. Ben wakes up the family to tell them he's married. Elizabeth ends up with Cindy's bouquet. As they are walking up the steps to go back to bed:
Elizabeth (carrying the bouquet): "Does this mean I get married next?" Jim Bob: "You can sneak out during recess."

The episode you are refering to buttercup is The Stranger.John looked like he wanted to ring Ben's neck. I can picture what Jim-Bob was thinking ... <Ben, you moron, you woke me up in the middle of a dream about Patsy Brimmer! I may never get that lucky with her again ... I don't care if you DID get married!> Okay, now anyone who knows me in real life knows of my liberal use of the word "moron." Also, anyone who knows me on this forum knows how I feel about Jim-Bob's character and how "frank" my speculations about him can be, without apologies. Debby

"Moron" is a GREAT word -- it's appropriate in so many instances --isn't used enough ! It was more popular in the 50's and 60's.....

What do people find to be the funniest moments from The Waltons? I personally find it very funny in The Statue (from Season 3) when Grandma tells Zeb that she doesn't want the statue standing outside the house, then you see he moved it inside the house the next morning! ;D So what're everyone else's favourite funny moments? I thought that the boys moved it into the house as a joke and put Grandma's hat and apron on it. Another funny moment I like is in The Pony Cart. Martha Corinne wants to help mix up the sausage and Grandma tells her that she is putting too much pepper in it. JohnBoy comes in and makes himself a sandwich of it and has too guzzle a whole glass of milk down, it is so hot. Then he looks over at Martha Corinne and says, "That was the best sausage sandwich I ever had, I think I'll have another."

I think it was in the quilting bee episode. Grandpa arranged for the men to have a pool game at Ike's. He had hid a mason jar of the recipe in the woodshop at home and told Ben and JimBob it was turpentine. Anyway, they used it on something they were working on and refilled it with real turpentine. The look on Grandpa's face when he realized what was actually in the jar was priceless.

I think this large list of examples proves that The Waltons and their friends all believe what John-Boy says in The Easter Story "Being foolish can be fun!"

I loved any Yancy Tucker episode, I got such a kick out of him. Like in the "Sinner" when he drops off the Fiesty Chickens at the waltons house and heads in to the house a to get his $ but hears the Christian music playing and runs the other way goes to the Baldwins instead.
