Joe-Zeb, I think it's time for me to create a folder on my system in which to collect (and re-capture) all of your "technical info and directions" postings -- wish I'd started it long ago !! I spent quite a bit of time putting that post together, copying screen captures and then pasting them into a graphics program where they were cropped and resized. When an image was ready it was uploaded to PostImage and then downloaded to the forum where I added the text. As soon as one image and associated text was posted I got on with the next, until the post was ready to be created. Or, maybe I won't.

Had to laugh at your reply Jeri jet I am the same. Mention technology and I shy away( run away). Not my thing. Old school. Weren't even allowed calculators in my day. Had to make do with a log book, slide rule Napier Rod etc. We had to think for ourselves back then. Didn't have machines (computers) to think for us. In a way though I do admire the likes of Joe Zeb for moving with the times. He has obviously put a lot of time and effort into sorting the technological things out for me. BLESS HIM. Still have no idea what to do though. HEHE. Doesn't help doing this on a small SMART phone either. Don't want a computer. It might turn me into a GEEK. HEHE. X

X There's no such thing as not wanting to be turned into a Geek. I suppose by today's standards Jim-Bob would quite possibly be a bit Geekish, what about Jason or John-Boy are they Geekish to? I don't know what I would do if I hadn't a computer. I'm addicted to it, the first thing I do when I get up is to switch it on then I make a cup of coffee -- the last thing I do before I go to bed is to switch it off. Being somewhat introverted I'd rather communicate with my computer. As I'm able to multitask I often have the TV or radio on while I'm working at the computer, I've been told I have a split mind. I can tune into two different sources such as listening to something on the radio while watching something like The Waltons with the sound on the TV turned up. Of course, you'll just have to take my word for that. I don't know how old you are, I'll be 73 in November, I was in my forties when I got my degree in Communication Studies. Four years earlier I got my first computer. A Sinclair ZX Spectrum. I had to learn the hard way as the Spectrum used a computer language called BASIC, which you had to laboriously type into the computer. 10 CLS (Clear Screen) 20 Print "The Waltons" 30 Run > The Waltons No one is too old to learn something. I may have the body of a 72-year-old, but I have the mind of a teenager. The day we start growing old is the day we think we are old. There are a lot more things available today that weren't around 30 years ago such as the Internet for example. When I want to learn something I look it up on the Web. YouTube is a great place for this. Apologies once again for going off topic.

Yeah -- no way could I ever be considered "Geeky"... but my five years' younger little sister amazes me... don't know what I'd do without her when I'm confronted with some sort of technical problem... amazingly, she hasn't yet forsaken me !!
Heavens, Joe-Zeb, we're about the same age (never guessed) -- so, I can no longer claim senioritis....

Well, alanankrett1 , I still have not received an email from you. Make sure you are sending it to the correct email address. Copy and paste and insert it into your email program, or possibly it would work if you just click on this link: grade1teacher@frontier.comProbably the easiest way for you to post a photo on the forum is to use the “ Add Attachment” feature on the top right of the “Create Post” box as Joe Zeb explained. I hope this helps.

Hi Joe Zeb. Don't misunderstand me. I use the term geek for a computer obsessed person or persons. I too am a geek in a literal sense. With me it is primarily mathematics, pure or applied, but mainly the latter. Also geeky with physics. Mainly Newtonian mechanics. I also remember the BASIC language. Did computer science at Technical College to make my hours up. I was doing pure/applied mathematics and pure/applied physics. Needed to do a 40 hour week to be eligible for a grant. Hence why I also did computer science. Found it interesting at first but got bored with it. Maybe should have stuck with it. Could have made a fortune !!!! At the end of the millenium there was a big scarw that systems woul crash. They were screaming out for people who knew machine coding. Specifically COBOL. I had offers but I wasn't going to try and bluff it or fake it. It was too important a job and I was far too rusty. I left college mid eighties. Did various languages. BASIC I BASIC II, FORTRAN, COBOL and a few others which, if I can remember I will let yoy know. Just find computers tedious. However, it is a quick way to look things up. Beats wafting through various books to find a small bit of info

Hi Brenda. Thanks for replying but can not make head nor tail of computer speak.Joe Zeb sent me instructions, BLESS HIM, but have no idea what to do. Mathematics, physics, cryptic crosswords, even the classics (Latin,Greek) then I am in my element. Computer talk - not a chance. "COPY" and "PASTE" mean nothing to me but thanks to you and Joe Zeb for trying. Strange thing is that I am a retail specialist and have to do systems work. Stock enquiries, ticket requests, mapping, sequencing etc. As a team leader I have to do on line staff assessments, staff reports, time sheets for payroll. Have no problems with that. I suppose it what you are used to. Thanks for trying though
