Thank you for the wonderful behind the scenes from your parents.  This is such a standout Hitchcock film; one of his best.

Oh gosh, I haven't walked into a library in a century. Lol But I can set up a recording on my DVR so it will record this movie next time it plays on any channel I have. I'll also check my "on-demand" library. We have access to a lot of old movies via that feature.

Patriciaanne - I followed Easton’s suggestion during one of his earlier posts amazing me with his ability to find things online and very quickly: I just asked Google exactly what I wanted and some pertinent resources popped up. So I inquired about where one could see the movie “North by Northwest” on a streaming device? This is what I found: these places were listed where the movie can be viewed: Movieland.Tv, Watch TCM (Turner Classic Movies), Spectrum TV, ROW 8, Prime Video, Apple TV, Redbox, Vudu - on Roku devices and it can be rented on Netflix.

I hope one of these places will be easy for you to access. I must have seen “North by Northwest” at least 10 times and I enjoy it each and every time!! Fix yourself some popcorn, get comfy and watch an American classic!

I saw actress Julie Cobb on a Season 1 episode of Little House on the Prairie today. Julie Cobb appeared in “The Airmail Man” episode of The Waltons as Sue Cooper.

The other day when the actor Topol(Tevye) died, I watched the movie Fiddler On The Roof. Miss Brenda is the guy in the 2nd photo of the guy who plays Perchik(The character who marries Tevye's 2nd oldest daughter Hodel) in the movie?

The actor in The Air Mail Man episode of The Waltons is Paul Michael Glaser, who I believe is best known as a regular on the series Starsky and Hutch.  According to his IMDB page, he was indeed in Fiddler on the Roof.

I’m watching a 1994 movie starring Richard Thomas called Save the Children,

Evidently it is a true story about a man who takes a school in Wyoming hostage. Richard plays the bad guy. I much prefer Richard in good guy roles.

One thing I noticed is Richard is clearly wearing hearing aids in this movie. I know he has hearing issues in real life. When I turned 50 I started having hearing issues too. I was just surprised to see them so obvious in this movie.

This is another thing I have learned from this forum. Thank You. I had no idea Richard had hearing difficulties.

Richard suffers from cochlear otosclerosis, a condition of the middle ear. The loss became more severe in his thirties. He has lost 50% of his hearing and is dependent on hearing aids. Treatment has stopped the progress of the loss, but what he has lost is lost forever.

Richard Thomas made his acting breakthrough as John-Boy on “The Waltons.” For much of his career, Richard Thomas faced little issues understanding his directions, hearing his costars recite their lines, or picking up his cues. Then, when the actor was in his 30s, things started to change.

Richard Thomas’s hearing loss came on gradually. He rarely heard his children cry, noted a Washington Post article.

“I just thought they were very good babies,” the Washington Post noted the actor said. However, over time, there were more and more hints that something may be amiss.

“He also stopped hearing the telephone,” the Washington Post reported of the actor. “He would turn on the stereo, and other family members would come in and turn the volume down.”

Eventually, noted the article, Thomas was suffering from a condition called cochlear otosclerosis. This condition causes the inner ear to lose its sound sensitivity. The actor also learned that the higher-pitched sounds – such as a baby’s cry, or a telephone – are often hard to hear with this condition.
