I would have enjoyed having lemonade on the porch with Olivia and Grandma. I would have brought my crocheting. I would have also liked to go turkey hunting, but I don't think they would have let me.

I think I would have liked to been one of The Walton neighbor. It would be nice to sit on the front porch on the swing, and just swing away, and just listen what everyone says.I would like to hear Jason play the piano, guitar and harmonica, and here him sing, and sing along with him.I would like to hear John Boy read, and also we can read together.

I would have wanted to have been Ike Godsey. He got to see the children grow up, be a part of their lives, knew about their dreams and wishes. Got to play pool with Zeb and learn what Olivia and Grandma were cooking.

I would love to sit on the porch on a summer evening and have dinner in the winter followed by sitting by the fire and listening to the radio, spend the night and have breakfast in the morning.

I would have gone to Verdie's and enjoyed chats with her. She was my favorite "non Walton" in the Waltons TV show. She would have been a pleasure to hang around with, If I were a single guy on Walton's mountain I may have have asked her permission to court her (although I don't know how well that would have gone over in 1930s U.S.A). I also would have liked to sit on the porch with the Waltons family after dinner. Hearing grandpa's stories, listen to Jason play some music. Observing the back and forth between Walton family members. Seeing the love between John & Olivia and Grandpa and Grandma. Just sitting around kind, decent, caring and respectful people.

I would have liked being the teacher in the one room schoolhouse.
Just went on two visits (with two different classes) to a one room schoolhouse. It was so much fun! The children get to live a day in the life of a school aged child in 1857. We dress in old fashioned clothing (as best as we can). Then we go to the school and have lessons, recess with old fashioned games, and everything.
We are lucky to have a one room schoolhouse about a mile from my school. Last year I wrote a grant so the schoolhouse could have McGuffey Readers for student to use during their visits. The children really enjoyed reading and working using the books.

My grandmother went to school in Ireland. I think it was a two - room schoolhouse because I believe the girls and boys were separated. When I was there in 2008, one of the B&Bs I stayed at turned out to be the very same schoolhouse. How cool is that? I didn't find out until I left and later that day, my great aunt brought us back there to see it. I wish I had known the night I slept there but just happy I found out at all.

I would have been Maude, but I would have kept Myrtle and I would have chewed tobacco and spit while I watched people go by my house.

I always thought it would so much fun to turn a one-room school house into a home. I have seen a few that are. There is one that I pass when we drive down to the shore. There is also a little church in the town where I teach that is now a home. The daughter of the pastor lives there now.

You would be a great B&B owner!!!
