Last week I received a reply from Linda Purl, who was appearing in a play in Southern California. She appeared in two Waltons episodes as two different characters. Two characters? I remember one but can't remember the second. What was the second one?

I enjoy trying to locate different cast members and writing to them. It is my one "guilty pleasure." Some of them write back; some don't. That is life. Autograph seeking is almost like a game.

Two things:
1. I enjoy following along with the stories of trying to get autographs or just in touch with actors and actresses. nedandres, I'd love to here any more stories you care to share.
2. I completely agree that ForeverWaltons is sweet, thoughtful and generous. In addition to the personalized Coke bottles she gave me when we met up earlier this year, she also sent me a wrestling t-shirt. It's now my WWE Sunday evening t-shirt I wear every time they have one of their specials (once a month).

Thank you Jeff. I immediately thought of you when I saw that t-shirt and I just had to get it for you.

I wouldn't know where to begin to tell you all the thoughtful things that ForeverWaltons has done for me, from cards, to gifts, to messages which lift me up when I'm feeling down. She is truly one of the most thoughtful and giving persons I have ever met, and I feel fortunate to call her my friend.

Okay, here are some autograph stories.
My first ever autograph was Richard Thomas. In fifth grade we needed to write a letter to a famous person. I wrote to Richard since he was the star of my favorite TV show. It was a preprinted letter and photo, but I was still thrilled to hear from him.
I wrote to many of the cast members during the original run and received many responses and continue to add to my collection today.
The first member of the Walton TV family that I met was Michael Learned in 1993, just a month before "The Walton Thanksgiving Reunion" aired. She told me a little bit about the show before it went on. I thought that was neat.
Here is a partial list of my Walton autographs:
Earl Hamner Family: Earl Hamner, Jr., Marion Hamner Hawkes, Audrey Hamner, Paul Hamner
"Spencer's Mountain": Maureen O'Hara, Wally Cox, James MacArthur, Veronica Cartwright, Kym Karath.
"The Homecoming": Patricia Neal, Andrew Duggan, William Windom
"The Waltons": Richard Thomas, Ralph Waite, Michael Learned, Ellen Corby, Will Geer, Judy Norton, Jon Walmsley, Eric Scott, Mary McDonough, David Harper, Kami Cotler, David Doremus, Lisa Harrison, Tom Bower, Linda Purl, Leslie Winston, Peggy Rae, Martha Nix, Keith Mitchell, John Ritter, Kip Niven, Tony Becker, Joe Conley, Ronnie Claire Edwards, Rachel Longaker, Helen Kleeb, Mary Jackson, Merie Earle, Nora Marlowe, Beulah Bondi, Pearl Shear, William Schallert, Bettye Ackerman, Rance Howard, Wilford Brimley, John Crawford, Cissy Wellman, Robert Donner, Lynn Hamilton, Hal Williams, Todd Bridges, Lewis Arquette, Morgan Woodward, and Ellen Geer.
Many of these came with pictures and notes or cards which I cherish to this day.
I am pleased that I have been able to get so many, since starting back in 1975! If anyone has addresses for any others that I could obtain, you can list here or private message me. I would appreciate it.
Any questions about anything that I can answer for you, I will gladly.
Ned
Blessings to all!

I didn't realize how much I had because I have only been to one Walton's reunion, where I was fortunate to receive autographs from Michael Learned and Cissy Wellman. But then I remembered I have Earl Hamner's autograph (twice actually--on a book and the Storyteller DVD) and Michael McGreevey's on the Storyteller poster and then, thank you to the generosity of my friend Marge, I just received an autograph from David Harper.
