It isn't just a Southern tradition! I called my mother grandma all of the time once there were grandchildren in our family.

On my mother's side, we called our grandparents "Mamaw" and "Papaw." On my dad's side, we called them Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa didn't mind it. But Grandma didn't appreciate it. She wanted us to call her Grandmother or Grandmama (emphasis on the last syllable.) But she was snooty.

This is really cool, I just received a friend request on facebook...from Mr. Earl Hamner. Wow... There must be a dance I can do to celebrate.... I guess this will have to do for now  |

Great pics! I hope he comes to the reunion in Oct. in Va. Do you think there's any chance he will? I haven't heard him say, but he did say to me on Sunday that he was planning on going to VA in April. I don't remember what he said it was for. |
