Carolyn said she would not be doing another California reunion, but the last I heard, she was planning a reunion in Lynchburg on October 18-19, 2013. It was even announced on the back of our programs at this year's reunion: The cruise sounds like fun, but it's too expensive for me. I will be attending Carolyn's event. Carolyn did mentioned that she would not be doing California reunion on the bus when we got back from the tour. I have never been to VA but would definetly go. I can't afford the cruise since I'm supporting my family on my income. My lovely husband is a stay home dad who help me out alot but can't work due to his healthwise. T.

I hope you get to come to Virginia next year, Tracey. And as someone else already mentioned, the mountains with their fall foliage are beautiful that time of year.

My husband and I were talking about going to VA next year when we were driving home from Burbank because he can see that I had a great time at Carolyn and Vicky's reunion. I already set up my budget for next year trip out to VA. My daughter flew to VA about six years ago to visited her childhood friend there and told me that she had a great time.

Definitely!! if you can make it this next year, you're going to LOVE it! I loved seeing all the amazing sights in CA, but it really puts it in perspective to actually see the place where Earl grew up and the Museum is always a special treat for any die-hard waltons fan!! I'v been debating on whether I'd want to drive out again like I did in 2010 nd 2011 or fly out, I really liked flying this time to CA, so if I can get a deal on tickets I'd probably go that route. Hmmm...Seems to me that in these "economically-stressed-times", it might still be cheaper to just jitney on down to Lynchburg (that name still scares me) VA, instead of being on a boat with just water, water everywhere (not a fan of cruises, more of a beach bum instead)....
Besides, if I were going to the reunion and had a choice of where it was gonna be, I'd like to be in a place somewhere in Va, that gets me "close to the place" where the Waltons lived...Location, location, location.....

I'm confused. Eric kindly took the time to write and said he and the cast know nothing about a reunion of Carolyn's in 2013. Can someone write or call her and get back to us? Let's nip it in the bud as "Barney" on another show used to say.
I'm excited, next Weds. I am seeing Michael in her play.

Man. What a game. I keep in touch with Carolyn and she said that she wouldn't be doing anymore reunions in California. That is what she said. She already has plans for a reunion in Virginia next year and also with cast commitments but wouldn't say who. She didn't say that she wouldn't be doing anymore reunions at all. I would like to know just what is going on here. Carolyn has put over 20 years into this reunion thing and desirves some appreciation for that so some of us poor people can go to these events and meet the cast members of the show that we all loved very much. I admire her for that. Enough of this game playing and greed as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks bmcgill for nipping that in the bud. I'm so excited about going to Virginia next year and meeting the club members, Carolyn, and hopefully some of the cast. Can anyone think of any other show from that time period where they have reunions such as this or have so many members in good health able to attend? Really, I was thinking today and this is the most amazingly unique case.
I was in Mt. Airy, NC, a few months ago, the hometown of Andy Griffith. They hold a Mayberry Day festival every year and have an AG museum. A cast member lives in town, or near it, and appears. But that is a far cry from what happened in Burbank and prior years.
Someone should write a book about the reunions and club members. There's a story there to record.

The Walton reunions are certainly a one of a kind event and I too can't think of any other show who's cast still keeps in contact with each other like the Walton cast does. Granted most of the secondary cast lose track of each other over the year, due to still working in films, but they love having an opportunity to come to these and meet the fans and catch up on all that's been happening in the other's members lives. Little House on the Prairie has these celebration days and Charlotte Stewart attended that this year, but it's nothing like having all the living cast attending at one time like Waltons do. And I think if it wasn't for Carolyn and her dedication to putting these on each year, I don't think it would happen! She makes her events feel so warm and relaxing where fans can mingle and have a good time. RYAN-J

I recently spoke to Carolyn also, and she is already working on the 2013 reunion in Lynchburg, Virginia. As much fun as we all had in California, it just seems to me that a Waltons event should be in the great Commonwealth of Virginia, the home and inspiration of the Waltons and Mr. Hamner. Just being in and near the places mentioned in the stories is a great feeling. The Museum, the Hamner Home, the Rockfish River, and all of Nelson County are great places to see. And yes, Virginia in the fall is a sight to see. So I am making plans to be in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2013. I hope to see all of you there

But, when I said the same thing at the time the California reunion was being decided upon, people jumped all over me !!! It seems that many folks wanted an excuse to visit HOLLYWOOD..... my only feeling was YIKES !!! I suppose for those who have never been, it might be something to see, but I also think once is more than enough..... Visiting Schuyler is so much more meaningful....

I think it was nice to have something on the west coast once in awhile. Part of the reason the 40th reunion had such a great turnout from the cast is that so many of them live in California so it was easy for them to come.
I don't have any hard feelings one way or another...it's too bad the 2 events for 2013 are bumping heads on the dates but each event has its own merits.

I know many us liked having it in CA this last time, as it did give us a once in a lifetime chance to walk the Warner Bros. sets and places where the show was filmed, which makes the show even more memorable now getting to say we actually walked those streets and stood where the cast did years ago. and as an Aspring Actor myself, hopping off that bus and walking onto the lots was literally a dream of mine come true after soooo many years! we were all so spellbound! I'm still itching to get back there one day soon, as I fell in love with the sights and active lifestyle. RYAN-J

Just to re - RE-clarify, Carolyn said she would not be coordinating any more events IN CALIFORNIA.
To Eric, sorry if you guys misunderstood but the Reunions will definitely continue, it's just too big an undertaking to continue doing them in California. Some folks are getting up in age and with it being the 40th anniversary, it was a very big deal and by having it in CA, Carolyn was able to entice more of the cast to participate.
The cruise sounds like incredible fun, but is unfortunately way out of my price range. The dates overlapping is HUGELY unfortunate, as it will divide the fans and the cast.
I will be at Carolyn's with bells on. ;D

I truly enjoyed the 40th in Ca. Carolyn and Vicky did a great job organizing the event. And I loved meeting so many other fans there. I have never been to a Va reunion. I plan on being at the reunion in Va in 2013. This time my hubby will be coming with me. As someone said previously it is unfortunate that the cruise and Va reunion dates overlap. I will def be in Va. I have never had an inkling to go on a cruise and don't think I'll start next year.
