How about everyone thinking fall foilage in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mtns. of Virginia today instead of thinking SNOW. It has been snowing at my house all morning!
Our reunion date has been set. Mark your calendar and plan to join us for another special week-end.
What: Walton's Int'l Fan Club Fall Reunion Where: The Kirkley Hotel 2900 Candler's Mountain Road Lynchburg, Virginia, 24502 When; Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23, 2010
Your lodging accommodations can be reserved now by calling The Kirkley Hotel @ 1.434.237.6333. The "cut-off date" for accepting reservations into this room block is September 24, 2010. Be sure and mention the Walton's Int'l Fan Club rate when making your reservation. If you plan to be a part of our "Walton Gathering" and want to be with all of us at The Kirkley, I suggest you make your reservations while there is space available. Last year there were folks who waited too late in making their room reservations and were scattered here, there and everywhere.
More details will be mailed later. I know many of you are wanting to know who our honored guests will be. When that is confirmed I will post it.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones !
MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Walton Hugs,
Carolyn

I was thinking that it would be nice to have someone else drive me to the Walton Reunion from Central NY.... So I am checking into getting a bus! I have one quote so far but am waiting for 2 others. There are large and small buses that can be used. The driver would drive us to the hotel, to the events on Saturday and back home. We would have to arrange meeting/pick up places and can pick up along the way. Let me know if you are interested! We would be coming the Syracuse, NY area.

Carolyn,
Is there a code we need to enter for the fan club discount if we are making reservations online?
Thanks,
Brenda

Good Morning, Brenda,
I was told that you need to let them know that you are with TheWalton's International Fan Club. That should give you the discounted rate.
I have called the Kirkley Hotel and I'm waiting for her to return my call concerning the online reservations. If there is a need for me to post anything different I will.
Have a "Warm Walton Day."

HERE IS A NEW TELEPHONE NUMBER TO CALL WHEN MAKING HOTEL RESERVATIONS FOR OUR WALTON'S INT'L FAN CLUB FALL REUNION: The number is 1.434.455.1302 and ask for Michelle.
I just talked to Michelle and she told me that we cannot get the group rate when making the reservations on-line. When you make the reservation through the hotel you will receive a complimentary breakfast during your stay at The Kirkley Hotel.
To those of you who have already made your reservations, just call and speak to Michelle and she will take care of you.
I apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused. It was beyond my control.
Looking forward to seeing you in October!

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in The Walton's International Fan Club. Our fan club was started in Oct. of 1992 at the grand opening of Waltons Mountain Museum. Our fan club is totally separate from the museum.
From 1993 to 2005 we mailed out quarterly newsletters called "The Blue Ridge Chronicle." I have back issues available for purchasing. Some of the fans look upon our newsletters as collectables. If you will send me your address I will be happy to send you a complimentary set (4) issues.
Regarding the reunion this year - it is to early in the year to get the cast member to commit to coming in October. When we get a commitment, I will post it on the forum.
Would love to have you come. The fall foilage is most beautiful that time of year.
If you have any more questions I will be happy to answer them if I can.
I hope you don't mind me e-mailing you personally. I didn't want to take up so much space on the forum.
Carolyn
