We all have our own favorite all time moment of the Waltons, but one that I think is often missed is Jim-Bob coming in the house and hugging his mother when he realizes that he "is especially dear to his mother" since his twin brother died at birth. There were so many great moments, I don't think I could pick just one.

I love Grandma and Grandpa's final scene together in the porch in Grandma Comes Home. I also like when Jim Bob hugs Olivia. I would have liked to have heard the conversation at the dinner table that night when the rest of the family finds out about the twin that died.

My favorite moments were the everyday simple things. Just plain, simple, real life in a big family!

The final scene in Grandma Comes Home, I just can't watch it again. The whole episode even. No one knew it but within months of that episode being filmed, Will Geer would be dead. I just can't watch that episode again. Can't handle it.

The Waltons by far had a lot of those moments, but I still watch them and cry.

There are so many!
But for me, personally, it's that wonderful iconic moment in The Conflict Part 2 when Martha-Corinne takes that one final look around her home before she walks out of it forever. She says those incredible last lines, stops at the door, pulls her bonnet onto her head, takes one final look around as if soaking up every single memory of her life there up to that moment, then sighs in resignation before turning and walking out.
It never fails to choke me up.
Tragic and beautiful.

The look of wonder in her face is so priceless. Like a child on Christmas morning. That's why I wish the show would have started with the family on kerosene and having an episode where they get electricity for the first time.

I also like that final scene with Grandpa and Grandma. In the episode where Ben and Cindy eloped, and John was on the phone with Olivia telling her that Ben had gotten married, and Olivia asked if he had to get married, and Ben said no.Also at the end when Grandma called Ben Young Fool, just like his grandpa, and than Cindy got a broom to Ben and told him what was what.

I have many favorite moments from the show, but one that comes to mind is in The Marathon when John and Olivia go to the dance marathon to see how John-Boy is doing and he decides to drop out. As John goes to get the truck, Olivia says to John-Boy, "I've been your mother for 18 years. It's kind of hard to stop all at once." And John-Boy says to her, "I don't want you to ever stop." And then the two hug, and John-Boy says, "I swear all I want to do now is just go home and go to sleep. In the morning, I want to tell you all about this." I thought that was such a great scene.

Those already mentioned are so memorable. I shall add these.
- The one when Erin says goodbye to Lance (the deer) - The one where the boy from CCC talks to Elizabeth in the barn upstairs, after Pete the raccoon dies - The one when Grandpa asks Grandma to dance to wild Irish rose - The easter story when Olivia can walk again and John goes to Church with her - The one when Ben has a job selling used cars and sells a lemon, and at the end of the episode Jim-Bob helps fix the car and Ben call him a good brother. - The one when John-Boy says goodbye late at night, outside the home (Richard Thomas last episode before he left the show)
Oh too many more to think of.

One of my favorites has to be when Grandma walks into the bedroom and Grandpa shows her the window he took from the house where they first kissed. The closing scene to that episode is one of the ones I remember the most.
Also, in The Homecoming, when all the children are on the stairs and ask John Boy to tell them the story of the miracle in the barn at midnight. When he closes the door and looks out through the frost, knowing that his Daddy is lost somewhere out there, his tenderness with the children is heart breaking.

I have so many favorite moments I can't list them all, but I really like any John Boy/Grandpa moments!
