It says a company called "Quest Media, Inc." is sponsoring this event at the Kirkley Hotel. I wonder who they are? With only two confirmed guests so far, they not only have links to purchase dinner each night, but links to purchase a weekend pass for either a 'VIP seat' ($75) OR a 'general open seat' ($65).

I read it and it sounds like a really fun event! I thought of you right away, Jan! Yes, it does patriciaanne, BUT..... this gal is headed to Carolyn's reunion next October to take part in all the fun and merriment..... and meet all of you! We're going to try this trip one more time. Dressing as a Walton character at the dinner/dance they are going to have would be a hoot. It reminded me of my two younger sisters dressing as the Baldwin ladies for a Halloween party years ago.

I am looking forward to meeting you, too! It's just so long to wait until next October! You know, I was just thinking about you today, Kathy Lee. I was getting myself in a panic because I had 'misplaced' my Walton's International Fan Club cookbook after sorting through and reorganizing my 'stash' of cookbooks last winter. This cookbook has Olivia's Applesauce Cake and Jane's Whiskey Frosting in it, which I wanted to make for the first time this Christmas. I was getting half crazed after days of looking and trying to figure out what in the world I had done with it. I was just about ready to give up and go check out your website today to see if you had the cake recipe there. I finally found my beloved cookbook this afternoon after tearing through our family room bookshelf. There it was....way in the back of a shelf. That's what I get for moving something out of its normal place.

Yesterday, I was making cookies and my daughter wanted me to make apple dumplings. I have not made them for a while and I was trying to find my recipe. I looked everywhere! I looked through my two recipe boxes, my binders with recipes, my drawer of loose recipes, then I sat down and carefully looked through my recipes boxes again. Still no Apple dumpling recipe. I made them but not with my recipe. Went to bed last night wondering just WHERE IN THE WORLD that recipe could be. When I woke up this morning....pop! I remembered! The recipe was in a cookbook that I got when I was first married. Went to the shelf, got the cookbook, flipped open to the page, and there it was! Page splatters and all! Will have to make the dumplings again. This time with my favorite recipe! The applesauce cake is good. I have made it many times. But, expect it to be more like a fruit cake then a fluffy applesauce cake. It is a dense cake that keeps for a long time.

Don't know if this is feasible for me or not. I do need to head to PA in 2015 to help my parents with some personal issues. I will be interested to see if there are more cast members participating before deciding or setting dates for my trip.

Wish I had Grandpa Zeb around to borrow a 'nip or two' of bourbon whiskey.

I want to try the applesauce cake this year. But I think it definitely needs a 'hard' sauce (as my mother always called it) Making plans for October, hope to meet you then The cake does need the icing as I think it would be a little too plain without it. The icing recipe for the applesauce cake is more of a traditional icing more than a hard sauce. My mother in law always made Christmas pudding (boiled English style). She would make a hard sauce every time she served the pudding. Hard sauce is thinner and is poured hot over the pudding.
