We all know Jim-Bob received a lot of grief for his tattoo. This made me wonder how you all feel about tattoos? Does anyone have one or more?

Ha! I could take the pain, no problem (most of the time it's not that bad unless you choose a spot that has no fat at all, like a foot--then it's a little painful). But I have an issue with the permanence of it. My sister got one several years ago. Actually, she might have two by now. I don't recall what they are (they're not in an obvious place so I haven't seen them in a long time). My boyfriend just got one, which is covering one that was there that was very ugly (whoever did the original was not very good). However, the person who did this one is truly an artist. It's an eagle in front of an American flag and it's quite beautiful.

I watched that episode tonight and laughed so hard at Jim Bob that I almost fell out of my chair! It was so funny when Elisabeth smelled something funny then screamed when she saw the liver on his arm!
I don't have any tattoos but my husband is covered with them.

I have 5 of them at present well, 4 really as I have two the same. I know that sounds weird, but I'm planning on having one of them covered up with a bunch of roses. I was hoping to have it done by now, but things happen and I got sidetracked haha So will be getting that done in the future, along with another one I've already got planned out

In that fateful year 2000, after I'd I lost Dad, Tommy, and my job, I got a tattoo of my mini-doxie Minnow (an attempt to pull me out of my funk, I guess).... and then she died two months later.... felt like I'd jinxed her.... horrible.
Friends couldn't believe I'd actually gotten a tattoo (at my age, and generally conservative nature) and, since it was out of view, I had someone take a photo which I used to carry in my wallet, should the subject ever come up .... In fact, I've actually never seen the real thing myself.
Remember the thread about "something that would surprise you about me).... I think that's where this belongs !!

I appreciate the art and beauty of tattoos, but I would never get one, for 2 reasons 1) I would be way too indecisive. I would never be able to decide what and where I would put one. 2) it would literally make me nuts to know I have something on my body that I cannot take off or wash off. It would haunt me, that I knew there was a picture or drawing on me...forever. Just thinking about it...aghhhh

I don't have any, don't want any. I see too many cases of Hepatitis C at work, related to tattoos.

You might love that shirt today but it ten years you will be sick of looking at it. Plus, tattoos sink deeper into the skin over time and become those awful blue blobs. No thanks!

I don't believe I'd ever get one under those circumstances.... mine was done as an homage to a "loved one".... but, as I said, no one ever sees it, including me !! ... Seldom even remember I have it

I don't have a tattoo, and I don't want one.I think they are ugly, and I don't like people who are covered with tattoos. There are a lot of kids up here who are covered in ink. They're good kids, really, this is just their "thing." Like someone else just said, I appreciate the artwork and I don't mind it on them if that's what they want to do but....not so much for me. I could be convinced to get a small one some day...maybe...but I certainly wouldn't want a lot of ink visible all over. One guy has a lot of scenes from Dante's Inferno up and down his arms (he has "sleeves"). It's fascinating to look at. Better him than me though.

I am definitely a fan of tattoos and I want to get some when I am older however they would be small ones and nice ones like a rose, heart or text that means something to me. I am like jeri as well I would also get one if it was in memory of a loved one or someone who I admired. So basically my reasons why I would get a tattoo; 1. If it is a small one 2. If it is pretty 3. If it is in memory of someone I loved/admired 4. If it is done professionally and at a place which I can trust

I personally have never had an interest in getting a tattoo. But, I have nothing against them if somebody wants to cover their body in so many tattoos that even naked they look fully clothed, well, good for them, it's their body after all! I don't really like to play tricks on people, so, I'm surprised I did this, but one April Fool's Day I told a few friends that I had gotten a tattoo. None of them believed it for a second! I'm a very predictable person, I guess
