I think this is a very heartwarming idea and would make such a wonderful gift for Mr. Hamner. I would love to add my thoughts, so I had better get busy working on un-blocking this dang writer's block.

I'm sure that the book can be available to others!
I want to share these heartwarming and funny stories describing how the series has changed people's lives. Think "Chicken Soup for the Soul" about Earl Hamner's "The Waltons." I want readers to be uplifted and inspired when they finish the book.
Did any of you become a writer because of John Boy? Have you been a better parent because of John and/or Olivia Walton? Did you tackle your drinking problem when you saw Corabeth Walton Godsey start her recovery?
And to the professor in Kentucky who uses "The Waltons" to teach college students...Contact me, please!
PLEASE SEND your stories, poems, pics and art.
What do you think of the title, "90 Candles for Earl?" Each of the 90 stories will be the light on his birthday candle! Illuminating, moving, touching - that's my goal!
So writers, start writing!!!
P.S. You can send your submission to me at michelle.forsythe@fedex.com or earlhamner90birthdaygift@gmail.com.

I believe that this idea is a wonderful one . Earl would like this because he is a writer and he cares about how much about his fans. I love the Waltons and all the show stands for, it is a wonderful show to be repeated around now because Earls morals and family values need to be rembered, in this day and age and what the wirld is going throught at the present time

Send me your stories, please and thank you!
Here are some more story guidelines... • Non-fiction • Maximum of 1,200 words • Deadline – December 31, 2012
1. Tell a touching or funny story about something that has happened to you or someone you know as a result of watching “The Waltons” in general, or even better – a specific episode. We’re looking for heartwarming and compassionate stories that will INSPIRE others. Forexample: a. Did you become a writer because of John Boy? b. How have you become a better parent because of John and Olivia Walton? c. Did you start recovering from alcohol abuse after you saw that Corabeth Walton Godsey did? d. Did you relocate to a small town because “The Waltons” showed you a glimpse of the connectedness found in a rural community?
2. Tell your story in a way that will make Mr. Hamner laugh, cry or be overwhelmed with joy. Don’t leave anything out — how did you really feel?
3. Be sure to describe your situation, the action taken and the result – such as a lesson learned or a positive change. Describe your recovery, personal growth or heightened faith.
4. Be real! Be authentic! We want to shower Mr. Hamner with appreciation for his work.
Do you have a compelling story but aren't comfortable with writing it yourself? Send the details. If your story has potential for this book, you will be contacted for more information and the story will be written for you.

To the 13-year-old Englishwoman....
OH, please send a story! It will be great to hear from a young woman like yourself. You can describe how the show appeals to you, your generation. That can demonstrate Mr. Hamner's legacy...How the stories have reached multiple generations.
Please, please write!

This is a wonderful idea. I'll think about what to write about. I'm certain it will involve how much the family members loved each other and were so kind to strangers. 2 values that we as a society have almost lost completly.

Hi! What a beautiful idea. I am an aspiring writer and I'm sure I can come up with something, having been fortunate enough to become a part of the Waltons extended family and doubly fortunate to have attended the Reunion events. ;D
