I'm really sorry that I started this thread thanking the person that uploaded the episodes. Not a problem, Kag. I know you didn't intend for it to be a controversial subject, but it turned out that way, which is okay. It just means that people have different opinions on a subject. All of us are different, and as long as people are discussing it in a way that is respectful of others, that's fine. Brenda

you are hilarious, Jeri. ;D ;D
You tell me of my agenda, but I Never said i didnt believe your answers to my questions.
I asked. You answered, I believed ya.
Too bad you dont believe me, but that is your hang-up, not mine.
"Since it appears I must explain every single remark I make in extreme detail if I don't want to be misunderstood "
you dont think that's snarky? " Extreme detail "?!

Jeri, You asked a question yesterday: "Can anyone think of something the Waltons did with unethical or immoral undertones -- something which wasn't specifically "corrected" in the episode ??"
I gave you an example and asked if you thought it was unethical or just good business. You never did respond.

Sorry, I just now checked in here & saw this Jeri. It would depend on what the actors had on their contract. I know some of the shows from way back didn't having anything in writing for royalties of this kind. Seems to me I heard one of the Brady Bunch kids say not too long ago that they didn't get any royalties because back then they didn't know to look ahead and think that the episodes would be played in so many places.

P.S. I have seen Youtube remove videos that violated their TOS....so I would think they would also remove the Walton's videos, but I have no idea what the terms are with the guy who posted the video, and if there even are any. I'm surprised though, that if they are in violation of TOS, that they're still there. They are a godsend for country folks without cable!

When I read it, I was actually glad that you came up with something! I don't have much of an opinion for that one..... it didn't seem to be an "issue" in the story -- just clever and funny..... Important to remember that the guys were eavesdropping at Ikes, I guess..... Believe it or not, I don't spend all that much time actually thinking about ethics/morals !!!

ok...
i've made my point. just watch how ya word stuff if you dont want it thrown back at ya.
Anyway, I dont think they ever left a unethical choice uncorrected on the show.
Heck, Ben thought he stole JB's poem and was all sick about it when it got published.
That situation wasnt even close to stealing, and he was all tore up about it.

Remember when Grandma was trying to win a radio contest by writing why she likes Blue Ridge Bluing? I think it was in The Quilting episode. John Boy wrote something and gave it to her, but she didn't send his in. She said she just couldn't do it because they were not her own words. She won the contest anyway.

Thanks, Brenda A good one -- and nicely "corrected" before the end of the show..... Oh, I wish people would try to think the way Grandma did.... We're all here because we cherish The Waltons and we need to try our best to live as they did.
