I know I am bringing up stuff that I'm sure has been discussed before but I just wanted to share some of my thoughts.
First off I wonder why did they brought Mary Ellen's husband Curtis back after he was killed at Pearl Harbor. The episode where he was killed was such a sad and touching one. I think they should have left him dead.I really didn't like Curtis that well and I didn't like it when they brought him back and a different actor played him. I was happy when Mary Ellen married Jonesy. I liked him better.
Also I wonder why they never mentioned Mary Ellen's son, John Curtis in the 1993, 1995 and 1997 Walton Movies? In the movie where she married Jonesy she had that accident and the Dr told her it would be risky to have more kids, but she had two more kids and they were in those movies
Also Ben and Cindy had two kids, Virgina and Charley. In the 1993 movie they said Virgina had died and Charley was never mention
I wish Richard Thomas would have stayed on as John Boy, especially in the episode where they finally found him after he was missing in action. The scene where he came to in the hospital and held John and Olivia's hand was very touching.

Remember the 1993 reunion was about 1963 when Charlie would have been 16-1/2 amd in high school. Maybe he was busy with term papers at the time. The 1995 reunion was about 1964 and Charlie would have been preparing for college. Then the 1997 reunion was about 1969, Maybe Charlie was away at college or else married and living away from the mountain.

Jonsey wasn't in the 1993, 1995 and 1997 Walton Movies, where was he. Seems none of the husbands were really part of the movies.

I think bringing Curt back from the dead was one of those things that never should have happened. I have never been disappointed in much of anything about The Waltons but that and Ben and Cindys kids were just a BIG disappointment. Also, What about the car wreak Mary Ellen was in on her and Jonesey's honeymoon and left her unable to have more children. In one of the movies she has more kids?? I was always confused by this.

[/img]There's been quite a discussion on Facebook today on the Waltons fan page about MaryEllen's son, John Curtis and Ben and Cindy's kids. Some people are saying Virgina died of Scarlet Fever and some say their son Charley died at a month old or 6 months. I don't know where they get this from. BlueRidgeMountains

I wish it would have been the same actor playing Curt, but I think it would have been better just to keep Curt dead.

I agree. They should have left Curt a dead war hero the way they wrote him out. To me TheWhirlwind/The Tempest was more of a soap opera storyline.

I agree. They should have left Curt a dead war hero the way they wrote him out. To me TheWhirlwind/The Tempest was more of a soap opera storyline. Many of the later scripts had that soap-opera feeling, which is not necessarily bad.... As far as Curt's rising from the dead, I give the producers a lot of credit for stepping outside the box -- at that time, the show had become "same old/same old" -- formulaic and losing its audience. They needed to try to revive interest in the series. This was a particularly interestig attempt.
