I found out just a little while ago that we lost another cast member some time ago----Steve Shaw, who played Elizabeth's 'boyfriend' George Simmons, who was born on my 21st birthday(February 19,1965 in St Louis, was killed in a car accident on December 5,1990 in Los Angeles.

You can't improve on perfection and with the original cast members being much older, it just wouldn't be the same to do another reunion story. I do think there is a goldmine to be found in a reunion special with clips and behind the scenes commentary from the actors. And the idea of a Prequel series does sound intriguing with a young Zeb and Esther! First it would be nice though for the original program to be back on the air (despite the dvds in the cabinet!). So the options are 1. The Waltons: Prequel 2. The New Waltons 3. The Waltons but with different actors/actresses playing the part or 4. Continue as is? I kind of like 1, 2, 4. With #1 you could see what life was like on the mountain before Earl Hamner Jr. was born (or before he was a teenager). #2 You get to see how the kids and their families continuing the legacy. #3 We get to watch our show go on! ;D
