In the M*A*S*H thread in the 'Other TV Shows and Movies' thread, the old Dr. Pepper commercials featuring David Naughton came up and I suddenly remember finding a red-headed Walton making an appearance in one of the commercials. Not only does Eric sing, but he dances as well.

Tried it years ago.
Tour sponsors of The Kids From Fame or The Harlem Globe Trotters. Think it was Kids. Saw both at Birmingham NEC way back in the 80's.

I found it a few years ago when I was looking up retro commercials. Hard to miss that red hair and voice. I'd forgot about it until I saw Dr. Pepper mentioned in another thread and looked it up.
By the way, I used to love Dr. Pepper (I love cherries!) until I couldn't drink it anymore because diabetes put it on my naughty list.

Very true. Don't like Marmite either. Produced not too far north of me up by the Burton brewery using the spent yeast etc from said brewery. If the wind is blowing in the right direction you can smell the horrid stuff from miles away

^ I don't know if you have Quaker Oats cereals in the UK, but there is a manufacturing plant just a few blocks east of me, right in the heart of the city on the river bank. When the breeze is out of the east and my back window is open, the whole apartment smells like oats. The smell takes be right back to my youth and my grandfather's farm when we threshed the oats.

Yes we do have QO in the UK. What I liked when the wind was in the right direction the smell of malt from the local brewery, which went out of business years ago..

Cute commercial, if not a little bit out of sync when I watched it. Eric and Joe Conley did a song and dance act for a while, even cutting an album in the late 70s. As for the soda, I can take it or leave it.

^ YouTube often sends things out of synch when they're uploaded. I know they reformat the videos, but whether that has anything to do with throwing things out of synch, I don't know. I do know that the reformatting usually diminishes the quality.

I agree. I don't like Dr. Pepper either. It s bit like Marmite, You either love it or you hate it. I have never had Marmite. My husband has and says it is horrid. |
