I don't think, any actors, can replace John-Boy It was Richard Thomas. Zac Effron, maybe. If, he can pulled it off. I don't know. I guess, we'll have to wait & see. Be funny,if Richard played Grandpa. If, he didn;t get the part for John Sr.

I do not think Zac Efron would be a good John Boy at all. He is too preppy and such, and just would not fit the part well. I can't imagine anyone but the actual first crew of people who played the roles. They were the true Waltons and will always be that.

Do you think The Waltons are under any serious consideration for a re-make program? I thought it was "just talk".
I can't help from thinking... if they brought it back in some way that Hollywood would do it's best to change it up and ruin it's wholesome image.

Even more so than Little House, The Waltons is just too iconic to be redone. While it's not as remembered as much as it should be, it's still a big part of pop culture. It would be like trying to remake Seinfeld or Friends 20 years from now. The actors from all of these shows are so closely associated with the roles that it would be impossible to redo them.

Kind of like 'The Dirty Dozen'. They remade that one, which is one of my favorites of all time, and it bombed big-time. You can't remake a classic movie. Since I first saw this thread, I see Zac Efron in all the gossip mags at the grocery store. I knew who he was, I just never paid much attention because he's so young.

Well, you'd definitely get the teen crowd to tune in if you got Zac. And I guess I would sign Regis Philin "as the grandfather"!!!!!! Jeff www.thelittlegrownup.com
