I remember that. Grandpa said after Grandma hit him with the broom, "You've come home,Esther! You've come home!" Grandma then calls Grandpa her trademark phrase, "You old fool". It's tearful because it is such a heartfelt scene and also sadly because it's Will Geer's last Waltons scene before his death.

Thanks for the link. I came across a gold mine of things Walton and Little House, including "Waltons" outtakes. As a "Little House" fan, I saw some LHOTP outtakes and an informative interview with Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary Ingalls).

I watched "The Last Straw" last night, season 8, and I don't know how I missed that one. Maybe I missed that whole side of the DVD. Hope so cuz then that means I have some episodes to watch that I've never seen before. I didn't like The Last Straw at all. For one thing, I really hated it when John Sr lost his temper and hollered. He has the most awful loud voice and it just blew my image of him to see him holler at poor Easy like he did. Once Livy left the series, and the spark she had John had together was no longer on the show, it seemed the magic was gone. Then Grandma was hardly ever there. She sure aged fast after her stroke. Gosh I miss them all so much...

Here is another funniest episode from Season 5 "The Rebellion" where the scene when Grandma stops by Ike’s store she finds Corabeth too busy to talk with her. Grandma smells something burning and learns that Corabeth is operating a beauty parlor in the back room. All of a sudden an 'Ouch' is heard and Grandma thinks it sounds like Olivia. Curious about the goings-on, Grandma hurries to the beauty parlor to find Corabeth giving Olivia a permanent wave.
And
Grandma visits Reverend Fordwick to discuss organ playing at the church. Grandma tries to calmly talk about Zelda but abruptly loses control of her emotions and says, 'I will not resign my organ playing to just anyone'. With a stunned look from Reverend Fordwick, Grandma says in no uncertain terms, 'I will resign from the church ..... I will turn Methodist!' Reverend Fordwick tells John and Grandpa what just happened with Grandma. As he speaks he observes Olivia running to the house half-hidden by a tree with her hair underneath a scarf. Olivia locks the bedroom door behind her and wonders what she will do about her 'Shirley Temple' hairdo. When she reveals her new look the children laugh and John just stares at her with his mouth wide open.

I was just watching "The Prophecy" last night and I think that could go up here. This is one of the best episodes where John is feeling a bit down on life and his 25th high school reunion takes place on the mountain. There are lots of funny scenes: John trying to hide from Eula May who wants him to help plan the party; John trying to change the dinner topic from a discussion of his high school girlfriends. John's friend Zack and the other classmates add a great deal of humor to the episode as well!

Here is another funniest episode in Season 8 "The Last Straw" where the scene show John enters Ike's store hoping to convince him to play pool. Since Corabeth is in Charlottesville shopping for perfume Ike agrees to close the store. After many games and drinks of The Recipe Corabeth finds the men intoxicated saying, 'What in the name of Jove is going on?' That night Jason receives a telephone call from Corabeth wondering if he has seen Ike. Jason says no, also unsure where his dad is. Jason finds the two at the Dew Drop Inn, even drunker than before. Jason marches them home until they reach the bridge over Drucilla's Pond. Ike and John tumble into the water, taking Jason with them. I love that scene. I was laughing so hard, when I was watching it.
