I like the first seasons most when the children were still young. After Grandpa died and John-Boy left Waltons Mountain it changed a lot for me.

dogmargermany. yep thats how i felt about it, somehow it lost the homespun feeling of the original family. I dont say that to start any uproar just how I persoanlly feel. I loved the downhome feeling, when the kids were kids and life was so mich simpler.

I think the second through fifth seasons, when everyone was living at home and still looking young! I loved it when the entire family sat at the table for supper!

I think the second through fifth seasons, when everyone was living at home and still looking young! I loved it when the entire family sat at the table for supper! I love it, when they eat @ the supper table. You don't see that very often, these day, family eating at the table, anymore. In their own home. Also, when they say good night to each other.

So much happened around that table besides having meals there. Homework, Jim Bob working on the 1st television set any one around had seen. Wedding invitations were hand written there, Grandma's wedding gown was mended. Corn was shucked, beans were snapped, clothing was cut out of fabric and Mary Ellen and Curt announced the news that she was pregnant. That table was the center of the Walton home, warm and inviting, a place where there was always room for 1 more to share what the Good Lord had blessed them with.
