Looking back at the complete series, is there a place where you wish a character had made a completely different decision than the one they made? How might it have changed the rest of the series from that point on?
For instance, I'm a big fan of G.W. Haines. If he had not died in the army training accident, he might have married Erin---and I imagine that his humble, traditional ways would have been quite a contrast to Erin's career-girl ambitions. I would have been very interested in seeing how his expectations of their marriage might differ from hers.

The episode where G. W. was killed as far as I am concerned was one of the best but most sad episodes of The Waltons. It takes a lot to bring me to tears by watching something on TV but that episode did.
I just wish they had written an episode where the girl that came to stay with the Baldwin sisters and Jim-Bob fell in love with, what ever her name was, had decided not to become a nun and came back to Jim-Bob. I know it was only a show but I could'nt help but feel sorry for the poor guy.

What if Johnboy had married Simone Berringer?
The subsequent events that prevented his marriage could have been averted in either of two ways---- In 1959, George Crocker stated that the US intelligence had foreknowledge of Von Staffenberg's plan to kill Hitler, but they did not give him any support or encouragement prior to his attempt on July 20,1944---had the War ended then Japan would have been conquered without an invasion or need for using the atomic bomb--- then five days after VE Day actually occurred MAY 13,1945, Japan admitted it could no longer hope to win and started sending out peace overtures to various sources----Ben would have subsequently never been taken prisoner and John Boy could have remained in Paris and married Simone.

What if Grandma and Grandpa had not moved back home (cannot remember the title of the episode). Remember, Grandpa and John had a falling out because John wanted him to take it alittle easier. Grandma was upset because the children were being disrespectful and Olivia ask Grandma to not correct the children.
