The Waltons lived in Waltons Mountain, where else did the kids visit (real places either in the book or TV series) as kids?

Hi Kelvin, well lets see. I know that they visited the ocean and Mary Ellen got to go to D.C. and stay with an Aunt (that was talked about but not shown on the show). Besides them talking about Rockfish and Charlotsville I know they stayed pretty close to home. Occasionally they would have a county fair and maybe a softball or baseball game. Even though they didn't travel and take vacations their lives seemed very full and satisfying don't ya think?

Mary Ellen talked about going to a town in California which she found on the map---Larkspur which is in Marin County just north of the Golden Gate-----later in the late fall of 1945 she made a trip to LARKSBURG, Florida----I believe there is a town by that name or a similar name between Tampa and Orlando!

In Season 6's The Seashore, the Waltons including the kids go to Norfolk when John is offered the job to fix up the Baldwin ladies cabin.
In Season 2's The Journey, John Boy drives an old lady to the coast.
In Season 1's The Deed, John Boy leaves home and gets a job in another town.

Hi folks, first of all Rhonda, I agree they had very full lives and the underlying thing that runs through everything is how much they enjoyed it. They got around, which is surprising for the age and the distances involved in the US. Some kids in England which is much smaller never left the village they were born in or travelled a maximum of 10 miles from their homes until they were late teens.

They visited Virginia Beach and John Boy worked in Charleston (WVA, I presume).

John Boy worked in Wheeling,West Virginia,in the episode "The Deed". In "The Achievement", John Boy visited New York City and moved there soon afterward. Erin went to NYC and ended up searching for John Boy in the series finale "The Revel". The Walton kids visited Virginia Beach in "The Seashore".

Later when he was living in New York, Johnboy went to Lynchburg to visit Mrs Garner, better known as Daisy's mother. At the end of this Revalation episode he leaves for Europe to work for Stars and Stripes.

Old, elderly, both mean the same and unless you're directly addressing a person, old is okay here.

Corabeth went to Doe Hill, I think Olivia did some travelling to visit cousins as well. Jason and Grandpa went yonder to research Verdie's ancestors, don't remember the place but it sure as heck wasn't Walton's Mountain! Ben of course went overseas and was POW. Jason & John Boy went to France. John and Olivia moved to Arizona.

Actually, Corabeth was FROM Doe Hill. I believe maybe she visited when her sister showed up and Cora was visiting a dying Aunt.
