Last weekend was the 25th anniversary of the Waltons Mountain Museum in Schuyler, Virginia, and several forum members were there for the celebration. Many of us stayed at the Kirkley Hotel in Lynchburg. I arrived on Thursday afternoon. That night, several of us fans went out to dinner together at Shakers Restaurant. On Friday, we stopped at the Rockfish post office, then continued on to Schuyler where we stood in the long line at the museum for autographs and selfies with Richard Thomas. Later, I had my picture taken with Richard and the pony cart. On Saturday morning, we had a special breakfast at the hotel in Lynchburg to honor Carolyn Grinnell, president of the Waltons International fan club. Forum member RebeccaLee presented Carolyn with a beautiful quilt with a Walton theme. Many of us went to Schuyler later that day to the home of Isis Ringrose. Her beautiful home was once the hospital in Schuyler and is where Earl Hamner was born. Isis opens her home to us each year and we have a wonderful lunch there. On Saturday evening, we met again at the Waltons Mountain Museum for the banquet. The food was good, and we were treated to a wonderful program. Three women who had appeared on The Waltons with Richard Thomas were there: Mariclare Costello, who played Rosemary Hunter Fordwick (the schoolteacher), Kathleen Quinlan, who played Selena Linville in two episodes, and Tami Bula, who played one of my favorite characters, Marcia Woolery. On Sunday, many of us went to Schuyler again before heading to our homes. We got to have photos taken with those three special actresses. They also signed autographs. I bought a copy of Tami Bula's book, The Most Perfect Girl, which she signed for me. Now I'm already looking forward to next year's reunion and seeing many of my Waltons friends once again. I have created a photo album of some of the photos I took over the weekend. I included pictures which I thought might be of interest to forum members. I hope the link works for you. If you click on the first thumbnail, it will enlarge the photo, then you can use the arrows to see each of the other photos. Thank you so much for posting your photos, I enjoyed looking at all of them. It looks like you all had a wonderful time. How special it must have been to meet Richard Thomas. I would love to attend one of these events but I live in Australia and its a bit too far to travel. However, I can enjoy hearing all about the events through this forum.
