I think I'd do well on most subjects, with the exception of advanced science and higher math.... since I seem to annoy family and friends with the amount of stuff my brain has held on to! ... English, history, geography, even Latin, have stayed with me and grown quite a bit. It's another story with anything to do with pop culture and current events! I'm very happy to see your response in my thread you have been missing for years and it is good to see you active on the forum again.

I was watching The Diploma last night and it made me start to wonder whether or not I'd be able to pass my high school exams if I had to take them again (for whatever reason.) I only did them about eight years ago, so that's a lot more recent than it would have been for John or it would be for a lot of you here on the forum, if you were to find yourself in that situation. Personally, I think I'd get a low pass at best (without doing lots of studying first!). Do you think you'd be able to do well? I think John's own struggles and the amount of studying he had to do, show us that there's no shame if the answer is "no" I graduated high school 47 years ago. I don't know whether I could pass my exams again or not. English and Spanish, probably. Math, maybe. Science, probably not.
But History should be easy. After all, there was so much less of it back then!

I read my response earlier in the thread. While it's true that I did pretty much do a "data dump" right after each test, I know I would do well on English exams (heck, I can still diagram sentences). I could probably even pass Spanish but would need to brush up a bit to do more than just barely squeak by. And I loved geometry so much I could probably do ok with some quick studying.
Physics eluded me the first time so I'm sure it wouldn't go over well now. I might be able to pass biology. Having animals has made me do lots of research on disease processes and anatomy.

Could still walk through physics and mathematics, especially the latter. Not sure about the rest though

I think so. I took the GED and that wasn't that hard. I did not have algebra or any advance math when I took it and now I have so, yes, I think I could take the GED again. My mind has been used a lot. And law school has fired it back up although I have issues with mass memorization of words.
The better question is would I? Not just no, but heck no.

I (proper noun) hated (verb, past perfect tense) diagramming (verb, present progressive tense) sentences. (noun, plural)
Just teasing!

If you really want to get technical, "I" is a pronoun, serving as the subject of the sentence. 😄

I think I'd do okay, currently home schooling our oldest son in 12th grade. He was in public school and then opted to do home school this year as all instruction is completely online in the schools here in Ecuador.

The only time I wanted to be truant was when the bullying was at an all time high. I never went to high school. I ditched the whole time. I went to seven different high schools and got kicked out of three of them. I did college on a 8th grade education.
