Anyone else notice this? We are up to the sixth season Waltons DVDs and I noticed that on the opening credits the cast members must have made a deal with the producers. One time it is starring Michael Learned, the next time the first name on the screen is starring Ralph Waite...so it changes every episode. Poor Will Geer was still a "co-star" on the first few shows of the season, then suddenly it was AND Will Geer as the Grandfather, so his status was elevated to star, too (always was in my opinion).

I always found the episodes easier to recall when the introductions to the episode were available.
And I am glad to see your pictures up once again. For a while Buttercups pictures were not there!

I've noticed on the DVD's that some of the episodes are titled "The Best Of The Waltons" - I'm assuming these were shown in syndication and must have had better film quality for DVD reproduction?? I love the theme music so much (I read that Jerry Goldsmith preferred a different theme he had written for the show but the producers wanted the one that was used) that I never skip the opening credits!!

I believe one time when they were in reruns they had The Best of The Waltons. This was a series of the favorite episodes not shown in any order. I am not sure which episodes were shown at that time, however

I love the theme so I watch the opening and closing. The closing, at least on Hallmark, was preempted by network promos with the names being flashed on the screen. I have never liked that with any show as I love the theme, both opening and closing. I am looking forward to buying the DVDs.
