The Pony Cart has been rediscovered!

I talked to David Harper last week (for his birthday) and he told me that he may have come across "The" Pony Cart and sure enough...here it is. Now can we get it back to Virginia to the museum so everybody can enjoy it?? let's hope

THEN AND NOW

THEN: We were first introduced to the oldest living Walton, Aunt Martha Corrine, played by the legendary character actress - Beulah Bondi in the September 12, 1974 episode "The Conflict" written by Jeb Rosebrook. Two years later on December 2, 1976, Martha Corrine returned to Waltons Mountain for an extended visit as she was suffering from a series of heart attacks in the fan favorite episode "The Pony Cart" directed by Ralph Senensky. Beulah Bondi received an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress for a Single Appearance in a Drama or Comedy Series in "The Pony Cart". This was to be her final career screen performance.

NOW: Mary Ellen Walton - Judy Norton once said "The world is a big round ball! 8,000 miles...smack through the middle. Waltons Mountain is just a tiny speck on it!" Well it seems that the world is not that big after all. Almost Forty years later and 200 miles from Los Angeles in Brawley, CA David Harper was visiting with his friend Matt, who's dad Phillip rented out "CHANCE" the cow, trucks and buggies used on the show. During one of David's visits, Phillip mentioned "You know, I once built a cart for the show and actually got it back in better condition than when I rented it out!" Immediately, David knew it had to be..."The Pony Cart".

With "The Waltons 45th Anniversary Reunion" set for March 24-26, 2017, David Harper and I will be working together in archiving the origins of Martha Corrine and Ben Waltons $15 Pony Cart with the hopes of finding it a home so generations of Walton fans can enjoy.
