As others have said, The Statue is full of funny moments. It's probably the only episode in the series that I would say is purely comedic. The FBI coming for Ike in The Furlough is pretty great too - a nice bit of comic relief to lighten the mood with John-Boy's more serious storyline. Zebulon's visit to the burlesque hall in The Grandchild always makes me laugh as well. Zebulon in general is a very funny character, largely, I'm sure, due to Will Geer. He often just says something that's just a little unusual, or makes a funny movement which brings a smile to my face. His "awomen" when they say grace is a good example.

I think Will Geer ad libbed a lot. Especially some of his prayers over meals. Talking about the Trailing Arbutus and all that. The picture of the statue I mentioned earlier in the thread (the bottom of the first page). Is it OK if I post it? It's a picture of a statue that I think looks like Grandpa's Annabelle Lee statue. With a cat with it's paws wrapped around it. But since the nipples were showing on the statue, I wasn't sure if it was OK to post it.

^ IMHO if it's a photo of a statue, it is art. One often sees 'art' on Antiques Roadshow.
My vote goes to 'post it'.

^ Nothing wrong with that. As I said earlier, we often see more nudity than that on both the British and American versions of Antiques Roadshow.

^ Yes, it does. I can even imagine it being in the Baldwin's garden if their Papa had bought it. I don't think it's something they would have bought themselves.

I always laugh at Jim Bob in the scene in the store when Livvie is helping Samuel “Simple” Miller select glasses. Jim Bob tries on a pair that look like Grandma’s, and then starts imitating Grandma: “Zeeeeeb, you’re gonna catch cold!” Livvie/Michael laughs a bit at this.

Grandpa was by far the funniest
John could be funny to in bits and pieces.
Grandma was funny to in a unintentional way with the way she would react to Grandpa

Yeah - agreed about Grandpa. The family didn’t have as many humorous moments once he was gone. Once of the reasons I liked Jonesy (and wished he was used more often) was because Richard Gilliland was a comic actor and brought some of the humor back to the family scenes.

I’m watching The Graduation. Grandma and Olivia are making John Boy’s suit from Grandpa’s suit that he wanted to be buried in. “I’ve said all along it’s not right to be wearing tweed when you go to meet your maker.” ~Grandma Walton.
