I just watched The Genius, about the nerdy guy with poor social skills visiting. At the end when he poured water on Mary Ellen's head I laughed so hard the first time I saw it, because it was so unexpected. The Waltons is so serious and celebrates the ordinary in life that it's hard to find humorous moments on the show.
What are everyone else's favorite humorous moments?

Well, the ongoing argument with Grandma and Grandpa about that statue he won in a church raffle was funny. She thought it looked like an old girlfriend of his. And he was acting real silly about it. Then some of the boys left it in the kitchen with Grandma's hat and apron on it. It ended up in their bedroom and she walks in and sees it and yells, "THAT THING"! They take it too the barn and it scares the cow.
Also, when Grandma finds out Rev. Fordwick wants her to share the organ playing at church with someone other than Jason. She tells him, "I WILL TURN METHODIST"!

I thought Jefferson Davis "JD" Pickett was hilarious. He and Erin had great chemistry together. JD was the big-talking, blowhard boss, and Erin didn't take his crap. The scene where JD wouldn't consider her for a management position, then Erin dressed as a helpless Southern belle in hoop skirt serving coffee, was great.
Yancy Tucker was a great character for comedic relief, but they didn't utilize him much.

In The Search, once Olivia, Jim-Bob and Elizabeth are found in the forest, Grandpa shoots the gun straight up into the air twice. That scene always makes me laugh. In The Intruders, when the men from the Murdock Mill get stuck on a sandbar while floating down the river, I always find myself laughing. A scene that always makes me laugh is in The Last Straw when John and Ike go out one night. They start out playing pool at Ike's store and then Corabeth kicks them out. They then head to the Dew Drop Inn, and afterward they go down to the pond with Jason. The funniest part is when all three of them fall in.

Yancy acting like he's dying from that chili he ate. And Curt tells the unvarnished truth. He's up out of bed in his long johns, "Don't insult a man's chili".

I watched "The Revelation" yesterday. This is the episode where John Boy proposed to Daisy, then it was revealed that she had a child. That wasn't the funny part however. Elizabeth and her friend had set up a lemonade stand in front of Ike's store, but it wasn't selling very well, so Grandpa had a solution - spike it with the Baldwins' recipe. The pink lemonade (unspiked) was for the ladies. The regular (spiked) lemonade was for the men.

Gosh, there are so many of them. Probably my favorite is the tent collapse scene in The Burnout.

It seemed like Jim Bob got the funniest lines and situations (the dyed hair, the tattoo)

I really liked The Actress, when Elvira Drummond is sleeping on their couch and Grandma says, "Whoever heard of a body sleeping till noon?" Then she dropped a couple of pans, "Slipped right through my fingers."
Then when the Baldwins brought over some recipe and Elvira was drunk and singing on the couch, oh man, that's good.

Grandpa and Rev. Fordrwick getting drunk in The Sinner cracks me up. The look on everyone's face was priceless.

I never laughed so hard during a Waltons episode as I did during the celebration scene (S6E15). John and Olivia had become debt free after making the last payment and had just burned the mortgage paper. Jason was playing his guitar, and the family was joyous. Then Ike and Corabeth came and broke the bad news to John about possibly losing the store after an unwise refrigerator purchase. Naturally, it was an upsetting moment there on the porch, only mere seconds after they burnt the mortgage paper. They rushed inside to talk about it and Olivia hurriedly told Jason to keep playing. Jason cheerfully began singing Buffalo Girls, the other kids looking at him dumbfounded. Despite the sad news, I could not help but laugh at this oddly hilarious moment.

Everybody mentioned scenes that I thought were the funniest but I like when Grandma finds out Rev. Fordwick wants her to share the organ playing at church with someone other than Jason. She tells him, "I WILL TURN METHODIST" the best!

Once, during a scene where John and John Boy, I think, were about to drive off in the truck, but it died. The camera angle showed from behind the truck; didn't show the guys inside. Anyway, I'm not sure if it dying was in the script or not, but John uttered an exasperated "ah shhhhhhucks!". I'm thinking he ad libbed, but it did make me chuckle.

I am watching The Rebellion now. Wow, Ellen Corby just took over that episode. She was great in it. It's not "funny", but it's funny watching Grandma and Grandpa when they're they got their feathers in a ruff.
" What in Sam Hill are you getting so upset about?" "Well gosh darn it..." "What in blue blazes..."
"Zeb, stop swearing!!!"

She tells him, "I WILL TURN METHODIST"! I just found a funny picture on Facebook that reminded me of Grandpa's statue of Annabelle Lee/Moselle Lewis. It's a picture of a statue that looks to be wearing a Greek toga that is half off on the top and the nipples are showing. And a black and white cat has it's paws wrapped around it. I will post the picture if Brenda says it's OK.
