"Here's Lucy" season 1 will be released on dvd on August 25th, 2009. It starred Lucille Ball, Lucie Arnaz, Desi Arnaz Jr. & Gale Gordon.
There are going to be alot of extras on it according to tvshowsondvd.com
One of the extras is several different actors & actresses giving episode introductions.
One of them says: The name of the episode is: "Lucy & Eva Gabor" original air date 11/11/1968 New episode introduction: Peggy Rea
Peggy Rea just turned 88 this year & this should be interesting to hear what her comments will be!

Thanks for the update. That's neat if the "Here's Lucy" DVD release inlisted the help of guest stars like Peggy Rea. She's a great lady, as I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Waltons 2007 reunion. A true Hollywood legend!

Peggy Rea played one of Lucy's bridge club members and a Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League member on "I Love Lucy". Such a wonderful actress. I've also watched "The Lucy Show" and "Here's Lucy" and enjoyed those shows. Ellen Corby guest-starred on both "I Love Lucy" and "The Lucy Show". I'm not sure, but didn't Desi Arnaz, Jr appear with Richard Thomas in a movie? I think it was "Red Sky At Morning" but I'm not sure.

This Here's Lucy program which is mentioned here occurred on a very important date for newcomers--- The same evening, November 11,1968, we saw a Family Affair episode with Eve Plumb who played the part of Eve Bowers, a girl in Buffy and Jody's class who is confined to bed because she has leukemia(?). Most viewers remember the end of the episode when Buffy cries herself to sleep in Mrs Beasley's arms after she figures out that Eve will never be well again. The following fall however we got to meet Eve Plumb once more as she played the part of JAN in the BRADY BUNCH.

"Family Affair" dealt with some serious subject matter and was ahead of its time. That same season,"My Three Sons" dealt with divorce as some old friends of Robbie's thought about getting divorced as their marriage was falling apart, a very thorny subject for 1968-69, though the couple stayed together after deciding they could work things out. Don Fedderson produced "Family Affair" and "My Three Sons". The premise of the "Family Affair" episode was used in a similar storyline in the "Waltons" episode "The Gift", in which Ron Howard played Seth Turner, a friend of Jason's who was dying of leukemia.

LOL! My dad talks about her role on that show every time he sees her as rose on the Waltons! ;D I'm hoping to get some of the Dukes DVD's and see them as well. RYAN J.
