There was a 1963 movie called The Waltons?

They fired Ralph Waite? That can't be true. Also, I didn't realize that he was in every episode. That is quit interesting.

Right off the bat they were wrong on #1 They were wrong on #1. Earl Hamner made a cameo in the first episode of season 2 called The Journey. He was Maggie McKenzie's husband, who she imagined dancing with while John-Boy was dancing with her.

Since when did Richard Thomas appear in the regular series( not the reunion movies) AFTER Robert Wightman took over the role? He came back for several episodes before Robert took over a year or so later but wasn't seen on the mountain again until the last three reunion movies.
Whoever made this list obviously did not do their homework.

Right off the bat they were wrong on #1 They were wrong on #1. Earl Hamner made a cameo in the first episode of season 2 called The Journey. He was Maggie McKenzie's husband, who she imagined dancing with while John-Boy was dancing with her. I just posted that a week ago on the thread "Notable Folks on The Waltons": Earl Hamner in Season 2 Ep 25 "The Journey": The Walton's elderly widowed neighbor, Maggie McKenzie, yearned to return to Virginia Beach on her anniversary. She wanted to see the ocean once more before she died, having emigrated to the U.S. many years earlier. She asks John-Boy to drive her to Virginia Beach, which puts him in a bind because John-Boy had already asked Marcia Woolery to a dance. John-Boy caves in to his nobler instincts and drives Maggie down to Virginia Beach, instead of taking Marcia to the dance. While John-Boy and Maggie are eating in the same restaurant where Maggie ate during her honeymoon many years earlier, John-Boy asks Maggie to dance with him. As they're dancing to a waltz, Maggie reminisces and starts to see her husband in John-Boy's place, a man who is played by none other than Waltons creator, Earl Hamner. This was the first and only time that Earl appeared in the series, or in any series. Earl didn't say anything, but he danced great. This was a memorable episode and was even nominated for an Emmy.

I saw him say that in an interview. I thought there was at least one episode he wasn't in, though, because of another commitment he had. I recall Olivia mentioning he was off working somewhere. Can't recall the episode though. Did I imagine that?

Earl also appeared as himself in season eight retrospective "A Decade of the Waltons." I will never forget that episode which I did not see the first time it aired. I was at my dear maternal grandmother's viewing. She was a devoted Waltons fan and we often watched the show together. I was in ninth grade at the time.
