Good morning everybody. I just was thinking that exactly 28 years ago on this day the last scheduled episode of the Waltons, The Revel, was broadcast. I didn't watch that night (I didn't really watch the show when it originally aired, just the re-runs) but would love to hear from those who did and remember. Did you know going in that it would be the last episode? Was there much fanfare beforehand, like we see these days with series finales (Seinfeld, ER, etc.)? It seems to me that they may not have known it was the last episode until the last minute -- there is nothing really spectacular about the last episode, and in fact it is largely a rehash of other plotlines. But then they may have known at the end to splice in Earl Hamner's very nice, simple, moving statement at the end that in some ways was the best way to end it. I'd love to hear your impressions.
Thanks!

The 'date' The Revel' took place was June 4,1946(remember the note on the invitation Johnboy finds when he came home------ and also today is the 58th anniversary(June 4,1951)of the day I was 'promoted' from kindergarten---I do not think graduation is the right word to use when speaking of kindergarten because it meant that you 'advanced' to the first grade!
