Wow, nice to hear from Tammi and what a fulfilling life she has led to date Only thing is no man would be head of any household I lived in...it's a shared effort in our home I'm the head of my household and my wife said I can say that.

My husband is head of the household too! That means he gets to do the wash, vacumning, take out the trash, empty trash cans, mow the grass, rake the leaves, load and unload he dish washer, ........ In reality, we share. We work and we both need to help around the house.

I believe what Tammi is referring to is a biblical reference. Accepting your husband as "head of the household" has nothing to do with division of labor, nor does it mean that a wife isn't a valuable partner. It is a biblical tenet espoused by a number of Christians.

I agree patriciaanne, it was quite common also in the pioneer days especially - for the husband to be the decision maker in a Christian household. (Not to get into any religious debates, haha)Also it's interesting to note how everyone interprets things differently. My understanding of Tammi's statement meant that she and her new husband would be entering into marriage with God as the head of their household. I often wondered what became of her and if she was still an actress. Marcia was one of my favorite characters.

She did say she was entering a covenant of marriage with God as the head of her household. I believe what Tammi is referring to is a biblical reference. Wow, did this thread go in a weird direction? When I think of Tammi, I think of Marcia. When I think of Marcia I think of dandelion wine. Tammi, I'd love to share some with you someday!
