Tammi Bula (Marcia Woolery)

There is another thread here on the forum about a new member who recently joined, tammibula. This is indeed the Tammi Bula who played Marcia Woolery on The Waltons. Unfortunately she has not returned to the forum since registering, but I did email her at the email address she used when she registered, and she answered my email. She let me know what she has been doing since those days of The Waltons, and she gave me permission to post her message here for all of you to read. I don't know if she plans on returning to the forum or not. Maybe she will eventually. But if she doesn't, this at least answers some of the questions we have had over the years about whatever happened to Tammi Bula. She seems like a really nice person. I would love to see her at one of Carolyn's reunions.

Here is her message:

Yes Brenda,
I am Tammi Bula. I did the Waltons then and other episodes on other TV shows of the 70's.
My fiance recently was on line, to show my grandchildren pictures of "Grammee" when I did TV.
One of my Granddaughters is so much like I was as a child and she is a natural actress.
While looking for something to show her he came across the web page you administrate.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that all these years later there would be an internet or anyone who
could be interested in whatever happened to me after I left acting.

I never intended to leave for good. But life happens.
I was married for 35 years, Had children and grandchildren.
I returned to school and became a registered nurse.
I thought at the time to have something I could do through a registry between acting gigs.
I found I loved nursing, science, and the thrill of helping someone get better.
I love to educate people about how to avoid illness and stay healthy, or to die with grace and dignity.
So I didn't emerge from that career now for 27 years, nursing in acute care setting of Critical care and Emergency.

6 years ago I was unfortunately divorced, and alone with the Lord who taught me many lessons in that alone time.
Then He sent me my soul mate and we will enter a covenant with God as the head of our household on October 10.

I would love to re-enter acting now since there are so many Christian film projects.

I am now supported by my spouse in this endeavor so I am looking forward to it.

The Walton's was such a blessing to be involved with; an ideal of what I wish television was still about.

How wonderful to hear from Tammi after all these years. Sounds like her life is very active and fulfilling.

Brenda, thank you for taking the time to contact Tammi and posting her reply. I have wondered why she did not come to the Walton events in California back in 2012. I had brought two pictures of her hoping I could get an autograph. I have no idea what state she lives in, so it might have cost too much for travel.

Would love for Tammi to post about her acting experiences and behind the scene memories.

That was a very interesting and inspiring post! I just saw Tammi in the episode where she wanted John Boy's ring the other day!
