...goes to Louis Welch, the actor who plays Asley Longworth Jnr in the first of the reunion movies - "A Wedding On Walton's Mountain". I was laughing my head off during that first scene with him with Erin on the porch....
It's like the worst of "Dallas" meets "The Waltons".... mind you, it's all Lorimar.... but couldn't they have just paid a few more $$$ to get Jonathan Frakes back?

when i was growing up in the town of BETHLEHEM PA. the house right across the street from us belonged to the frakes. i would pass it and say hi to jonathan as he was cutting the grass. on summer nights i would sit on my front porch and he would be on his porch. he might be reading or have a friend sitting with him. i never thought in a million years that he would later be ASHLEY LONGWORTH JR.

I don't remember that guy, but will be watching for him when I get the DVD.
Has the original Ashley been in anything current?

I don't remember that guy, but will be watching for him when I get the DVD. Has the original Ashley been in anything current? The original Ashley was never seen on the Waltons but Emily Baldwin always talked about her man which his name is Ashley Longworth. Then on Season 7 "The Legacy" Ashley Longworth Jr came for the first time to tell Emily that his father married late in life but told him of his first love, Miss Emily. Ashley presents her with a letter that his father wrote to her before he died. Jonathan Frakes who played the original Ashley Longworth Jr in two episodes of the Waltons. Season 7- The Legacy Season 8- The Lost Sheep Wedding on the Waltons Mountain (first post movie after the television series ended) Louis Welch played Ashley Longworth Jr. (He was the worst actor)

I thought for certain that the episodes "The Tempest" and "The Whirlwind" from season 9 would be mentioned but it seems I do remember that the second Ashley Longworth Jr was awful. Like Curt,Ashley should have been left in the past. Let bygones be bygones. I guess they felt it would add to the drama but still they should have brought back Jonathan Frakes or had somebody other than the Ashley character.

Sometimes it's scary how much we change as we get older... scary and sad too.

I noticed Johnathan Frakes played the part of Charles Lindberg in Pointing East? This was two years after there was a report in the New York Daily News that Charles Lindberg's son, who was kidnapped and murdered by Bruno Hauptmann, was not killed at all but was still living==perhaps there is someone who remembers the story???

Just a few more days and I'll have my hands on the Walton's movies. This is like waiting for your first date to show up at the door!

We watched this movie last night! The "new" Ashley was believable as a bad guy. My wife was so into his character, she kept saying "what a jerk!" I kept wondering why Erin didn't bring up his atheism, but then I guess the story would have been over before it started!

I agree, bringing Ashley Longworth Jr. back just to throw in some extra drama wasn't a very good idea on the writer's part. But that's often the way it is with Erin's love stories, complicated and dramatic.

I finally watched this movie last night and I thought Ashley's acting was good, but the guy that played him was kind of a turn-off. I'm also tired of Erin's jumping in and out of love with every guy that comes along. Yes, I know it's just a movie, but she is so FICKLE! Still can't get over the wearing of heels either. That just is not believable. I would really like to hear the person who came up with that idea explain what's behind it....just for fun. Sure do miss Rose!
I have a toothache and am DREADING going to the dentist. Someone go for me....please....
