But, in season four episode "The Sermon" the scene where John Boy returns from Boat-wright with books on religion, Mary Ellen is in the kitchen when John Boy enters. Grandma is in her room and asks for John Boy to come into her room. As John Boy is walking to her room, the camera pans out and leads the view ahead of John Boy. As the camera view pass the stair well I saw a shadow. Curious, I Back up the DVD and SLOWLY forwarded the DVD. There is a shot of someone going up the stairs holding a guitar. Probably Jason, but the face is not shown. Jason is not shown before or after. Spooky. The must have had a scene for Jason that the edited out. Go look for yourself.

Dear Carol, there were some episodes in which some of the family was not there---I think there was one episode where David Harper was sick(?) and they wrote him out of that episode---The Sermon might have been the same case with Jon Walmsley---perhaps he had some parts and then became ill when the scenes were being filmed. but either before or after the filming he was ok and there was one scene in which he made a cameo showing....

Well I found the scene, but it's not a blooper or an edit. Jason clearly comes through the door and says to Mary Ellen "Hi sister" to which she repsonds "Hi Jason" then he heads up stairs, which you mentioned. John-Boy enters soon after with his books. Not sure if your DVD player skipped that brief encounter but it's not a blooper or an edit. RYAN J.

The one episode you're talking about that Jim Bob wasn't in is "The Substitute."

I have been gyped then. I did not see that. Maybe I should not use the word gyped. Might be slang for gypsies.
