We put up our Christmas tree yesterday. Can you find the Waltons ornament? Your Christmas tree is absolutely gorgeous, Brenda! I hope all forum members who wanted this ornament have been able to locate one. I have been reading Facebook posts about how difficult they are to find now. I'm glad I purchased mine back in October! Our tree is going up this weekend and this ornament will be hung next to the Andy Griffith Show ornament, two of our all-time favorite TV shows.

It appears that a lot of you put your trees up quite early -- I've never heard of that ! -- is this a new trend ??!!
I also noticed yesterday that our town is already stringing up their usual lights on all the trees downtown.... can't remember it ever being done this early.... but maybe they won't light them for a while....
Growing up, it was Santa who brought our tree (Dutch custom, I think) on Christmas Eve ... have no idea how Mom and Dad managed to do that without us children hearing.... Once we were all old enough, we started putting it up about a week before, and New Years Day was always the time to have fun taking it down.

I think everyone should post pictures of your Christmas trees as you put them up! We will get ours next week.

My tree is always up and decorated on the weekend before Thanksgiving. I just don't feel that the 3 or 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are enough to really experience the holidays without rushing. I never felt ready when I waited until December to decorate. I also love how people seem to be so much friendlier and helpful around the holidays.
I found my Waltons ornament 2 weeks ago. It's front and center on my tree. I put a silver star on the top of my tree, and fill in any gaps between branches with silk flowers. The ornaments are either ours from childhood, made by our kids through the years or were gifts from family members. I rarely buy ornaments anymore. I have so many that don't go up just from lack of space. I'll post a photo of my tree later on. Still looking for the box containing the stockings and tree skirt... I must've mislabeled it in the move.

Got our Waltons ornament via a friend visiting from PA. The Hallmark stores here do not carry the ornaments. I like it quite a bit, but it is smaller than I thought it would be. But it will be nice to have a bit of the Waltons here on our tree in Ecuador.
