for those of us who saw the original airing )When you are watching the Waltons and there is nothing to remind you of the passing of time (mirrors, children etc...) do you forget that is is 2009? Lots of times I'll be watching the Waltons and think that it is 1973 or something and I am still a kid. Then, when I go outside or fire up the computer I realize that I have been in a time warp.

Carol I do know what you mean. I remember watching the show with my mother when I was a little girl and watching it again reminds me of that time and I can imagine us watching it together again.

I watched at home with my parents for the first couple of seasons. Then I went off to college and watching the show each Thursday evening was a way to keep that connection with home and parents. I would usually call home each Thursday evening after the show and the episode would be part of our conversations. Now that Mama and Daddy are both gone, watching those episodes is just one way to keep the memories from those wonderful years alive.

Watching the show does not transport me back to the '70s - it takes me back to th 1940s and my rural Georgia roots.
