Here is the message from Hallmark Channel Community
Dear Walton’s Fans, We know that many of you are disappointed by the recent loss of The Waltons from the Hallmark Channel schedule. Hallmark Channel has been proud to be the home of The Waltons for 6 years and while the network continues to support the values and family themes of the show, the licensing agreement to air The Waltons on Hallmark Channel has ended.
While the series is leaving for now, it may return to Hallmark Channel in the future.

Thanks Annenina and Tracey. I e-mailed Hallmark several weeks ago and called them this morning. Maybe if enough of us respond they will return The Waltons to their program list.

Hello all,
Just a heads up. As per certain reliable sources; Hallmark cancelled the Walton TV show because their contract to air the series had run out. Hallmark does not hold the rights to the Walton’s series and therefore has no control over when or if they can bring the Walton’s back to their station.
Hope this helps clear the air for some!
Talk soon, Dianne

It is sad that the HALLMARK CHANNEL not bringing back ''THE WALTONS'', now they air marathons of ''GOLDEN GIRLS'' every weekday morning from 8am until i guess i say 1pm, we need HALLMARK to bring ''WALTONS'' back to their channel or will another cable network by instance ALN(AmericanLife TV Network)will get the rights for ''THE WALTONS'' as they wanted!!

They do have Little House in the afternoons however. I am glad to say that Columbia House now is making the Little House DVD's available at a reduced price(however this may be only for club mmembers and they may have a surplus of DVDS----I had tried to find at SAMS three years ago the third season DVD (1976-1977)which had two great episodes between Thanksgiving and Christmas---the first was the most humorous episode they ever put on about FRED THE GOAT---I laughed for weeks thinking about that episode---and then the following week they had The Bully Boys .Now I will be able to get that episode however I taped it on VHS when it was in reruns on a local channel back in the fall of 1991.

Who owns the rights to The Waltons? Maybe they should be contacted.

Why do we care? We have the DVDs! Surely the only important thing is the movie sequels being released?
It's not going to get a rush of new fans, especially on hallmark, so why on earth does anyone care?

Why do we care? We have the DVDs! Surely the only important thing is the movie sequels being released? It's not going to get a rush of new fans, especially on hallmark, so why on earth does anyone care? I do own all the seasons on DVD but there are some that do not. I would enjoy watching when they are on like before when I could check the news real quick to make sure the world wasn't blowing up and then switch over to The Waltons while I was getting ready for work. Besides, it is a wonderful show with great values and lessons. Also, I believe that there are people that maybe weren't around when the show was 1st on who can become fans like all of us. Then they will sell more DVDs and everyone can be happy!!
