Remember the episode "The Changeling?" I wonder what made the folks in charge come up with a story like that? A poltergeist in the Walton home seemed like an odd choice for a show like this. I must admit though, when I saw the preview I couldn't wait to see the show the next week!

By this time it was the 7th season, and I figure they were starting to have to think a little harder to come up with plots that had not already been done. That said, I think The Changeling was a great episode. I especially like that the "weird happenings" surrounding Elizabeth were never able to be explained...it left some interpretation for the viewer.
On a side note, there is also a new movie out called "The Changeling" with Angelina Jolie. Also creepy, but a good movie.

Just imagine how hard it would be after all those years to constantly come up with new story ideas! That just shows how talented the writers were. Since The Changeling was filmed three years before the Steven Spielberg movie "Poltergeist" came out, I wonder if this episode was an inspiration to him? Another creepy episode I looked forward to was "The Ferris Wheel." That one was also about Elizabeth. I think Ellen Corby had her stroke during the filming of that one because she is seen only briefly at the beginning of the show and from then on she is only referred to.

I was just watching The Ferris Wheel and notice that Ellen Corby was only in the start when Elizabeth fell down the stairs and didn't see her at all in the The Elopement. The first anyone said anything about Grandma being in the hospital in in John's Crossroads
