It's probably terrible of me, but my first thought when I read this thread title was, "Wow--I wonder who brought her in and how much she was worth..."

You know that show is a set-up, right? They're all hired actors with borrowed props from serious collectors, and all the information has been researched ahead of time. I have a good friend who is a renown collector of medieval torture implements and weaponry, as well as Titanic artifacts, all museum quality pieces, and he's loaned things out to the show several times and told me how it works. They probably hired Ronnie Claire to appear. It is a wonder they didn't mention her TV resume. I'm pretty sure you are mistaken. My brother went to the taping of the show when it was in my city. A friend worked on the show when it was here and I saw her on the show when it aired. It is not a "setup".

Antiques Roadshow is not a set up.A friend went to Antiques Roadshow when it was in Knoxville Tn. a few months ago,and she had a couple of things appraised. I don't think she will be on the taped portion. It will be shown sometime next year.

Well, I know they are not ALL hired actors -- because a few years ago my younger sister was on a show filmed in Tampa.... she had brought two interesting family-heirloom items.... they did spend some time finding an appropriate "antiques expert" for the painting she exhibited.... and she had to go back a week later for the actual shoot.... but she was not an actor! I think, however, that most folks don't know about the pre-show.... and many attendees (those wandering around in the background of the venue) only come to the shoot....

Wish I could have seen the show. I love antiques.
