A while back someone had posted some links of funny outtakes from The Waltons. The two that really got me laughing were the one where the family is sitting around the livingroom talking and Mama says something how if it werent for the fact that they were babtists and John boy stands up and calls Mama a red neck and she throws her newspaper at him and stands up to fight with him. That one I found again on You tube. The other that I LOVED was when John boy and Grandpa are soaking in the hot springs and I forget what they were saying but they both turn around and moon the cameras. It was hysterical. I can't find that one on you tube anymore. Does anyone have a link to where I could see it again? Thanks...

The actors had a sense of humor! I think Will Geer was especially funny and must've pulled quite a few pranks on the set. That would be a good question to ask at the next reunion...who was the best prankster.

Seems I remember that was brought up at a reunion and Mary McDonough or one of the other cast members recalled that John Ritter and Richard Thomas were big pranksters on the set as was Will Geer.

Hi katydid620 Youtube removed the video due to terms of use violation by someone else complaining about the bloopers.. Sorry...

Oh, I would have loved to seen them again! Does anyone else remember the talk show that Dinah Shore used to do in the 1970s? It was called Dinah! and it was 90 minutes long. She used to have "salutes" to current TV series every so often with the cast members on. Of course there were no home VCRs back then (ones people could afford, anyway...LOL!) and I could not videotape the show, but I still have on audio tape the salutes she did to M*A*S*H and The Waltons. The entire cast (it was before Ellen Corby died) was on The Waltons salute and I would love, love, love to find it on video! It was a wonderful show. Anyway...to bring this back on topic...they showed a bunch of bloopers including Reckless peeing in a pool of water and Grandpa getting out of the bathtub in his birthday suit! (Of course that was...edited. :-) ) Dinah asked Will Geer about this and he said the director told him to keep his underwear on, but he was brought up to never wear his underwear while taking a bath! LOL. Later Earl Hamner came on and they did a Q&A with the audience.
Darn, they did such good talk shows back then, not like now when everyone's talking about being pregnant with their boyfriend or being picked up for DUI.

Hi linday,
Yes I remember when daytime TV had class and was something whole families could watch along with prime time TV. I remember Dinah Shore,Mike Douglas, and Merv Griffin. It's sad that daytime and most other TV nowadays choose to dwell on filth, sensationalism, and vulgarity.

Yes Tracy, Not only the mooning video but both videos are on youtube. In the "redneck baptist" video John Boy says at the end "I'm going out to smoke a joint". Very funny outakes. D
