Slightly of topic. I once watched a British tv comedy about a grouchy old woman and an easy going old guy at a retirement home. I don't remember the nam Does it sound familiar to anyone As whisper said, it was Waiting for God. I could never figure out the attraction between the two but they were perfect for each other.
And a bit more off-topic if I may, One Foot in the Grave.

Easton did you ever watch Keeping up Appearances ? I have the entire series, including specials, on DVD.
A bit of KUA trivia: Patricia Routledge never rehearse scenes in character. She did her lines straight. When it was time for recording, she let loose. The reactions of the rest of the cast were real. They simply had no idea what she was going to do.

Easton did you ever watch Keeping up Appearances ? I love Keeping Up Appearances. Such a fun show. I especially like the character Elizabeth. I like how she tries to be polite to Hyacinth, even though she makes her extremely nervous. When Elizabeth is at Hyacinth's for tea, Elizabeth tries to be careful to the royal doulton cups, that Hyacinth is proud of. But when Elizabeth gets nervous, she gets clumsy. (Much like me) I think Josephine Tewson did an excellent job.

This isn’t a TV show, but it does mention The Waltons. “We feel like the family in the seventies TV show The Waltons,” Hurley told Hello! magazine. “There are nine of us. I have my whole family here, including my mother, an aunt and a friend who has severe respiratory problems.”Elizabeth Hurley in quarantine with 8 other people

on Home Improvement,Tim had a dream where he and Jill were old. Jill asked Tim what she had loked like, and Tim said "you remember that old lady on The Waltons?" Never was a fan of that show. but that is HILARIOUS!

I was never really a fan of the show Friends but it is almost unescapable in syndication these days. In desperation for new contest these days, I have been watching some of the episodes. The other day, there was an episode on where Ross's monkey gets ahold of the TV remote and switches the TV to SAP mode. This results in all the programs being broadcast in Spanish.
None of the Friends can figure out how to turn SAP off. The running joke throughout the episode is they show the TV periodically with a well known show playing and the dialogue is in Spanish. In one of those shots The Waltons was on.
In another episode, Chandler says "Things sure have changed here on Walton's Mountain."
